I'm so excited!!! I just booked my flight. Fly in from St. Louis on Friday. YAY!!!! I actually do get to go to one of his acoustic shows. I can't believe it!

Glad to hear you'll be at the show. There will be several of us from the boards there. We hope we'll get a chance to meet you, but in the mean time make yourself comfortable here on the boards. There are so many wonderful people here and plenty to do to keep you busy.

Good evening/good morning all! I am sitting at the lobby computer of the Courtyard Marriott in Ft. Myers at 2:56 a.m.- just had to post something- I so sorry I have not reported in thus far. An explanation and intinerary of the last few days? Let's just say that: I live 90 min from Ocala, left the bar at 2:00a, got home at 3:30a, was woken up at 8:30a by Rockfan when she was connecting planes- and picked her up at the airport at 9:30....took her along on some work related errands, dropped her at my house so she could rest up for the show last night, and then I WENT TO WORK FOR THE REST OF THE DAY - came home- got dolled up, and headed out with RF to the show last night that was over an hour away- and we arrived back home last night at around 3:30am. So that explains that lack of posting. I hope.

These acoustic shows have been such a unique and intense experience- and completely different from Lovehammers shows. First of all - Marty usually expresses so much through his body movements, and in these shows he is fairly still and seated on his barstool. The energy that usually flows from his physical being has been coming through his voice, which is strong and full and rich, his vocal control, and from his personality. He discusses personal experiences on the show at length- prefacing each RSINXS tune with an anecdote about how that song was chosen, or what it was like for him to perform it, etc. He also elicits questions from the audience, encouraging people to ask him whatever they want. The questions range from "why did you cut your hair?" (answer="I don't know") to "do you keep in touch with any people from the show?" (answer=yes, Neil- Suzie McNeil-and Jordis)....to "what was the worst week on the show for you?" (answer= the week of HMBOMT). Marty is very animated, extremely funny, seems really happy about the tour, and appears to be having a really good time. Who knew he was such a comedian? The venues have each been different- Ocala- big stage, very large space- and tonight's space was very small- the stage was not elevated at all, and it was like having Marty in your living room. We were so lucky to have had such an intimate setting for tonight's show. It was so, so incredible. He has been polite, warm and gracious as always, and has made each person feel like the center of the universe, if for but a moment.

As it is almost 3:30am, I am going to have to continue this tomorrow- I apologize- but I am fading fast. More to come.

This is an excellent report, Lisafaith. Thank you for taking the time to post it for us as soon as you did. You got right to the heart of what I wanted to hear....what being at one of these shows was really like. I really wanted to know how it compared to the other times the fans have seem him...and you answered that quite nicely.
