IMO, the vocals & music fit in perfectly with the current format of the alternative/ rock stations as well as the top 40 format stations, since a lot of bands in the genre are on the charts and featured on the various VH1, MTV, etc. channels (when they're actually showing videos that is!!)

Music is revolutionary, evolutionary and all points in between. What is one person's recycled in someone else's "creative" such as oh say Louis XIV and its creativitely recycled 80's sound. And one person's evolutionary creativity (Radiohead I'm looking at you) is anothers utter pile of crap. And covers are an interesting choice in creativity though done right-ala Baby Hit Me One More Time-it can be evolutionary. Fun to throw in and mix things up but a set full of covers in order to placate the masses? Save me from that show LOL! Most music carries sounds and elements from different eras and influences. It is the RARE band that can be deemed revolutionary. I'm not looking for anything but catchy, intelligent lyrics sung in a sexy raspy rock and roll voice by a charismatic and intense front man backed by a kickass, musically proficient band. In other words, a damn good time. IMO, the Lovehammers deliver all this and more. [/quote] Hey Kel, I quote you because you took the words/feelings right out of my mind!!!

I am a HUGE fan of Marty's,but have to agree with one review that says their sound is dated. That sound may be fine as charismatic stage performers, but does not help them in selling new cd's or tv/radio coverage. They should do more covers or branch out in creativity like Modest Mouse or Louis XIV. ROFLMAO respectfully......... Music is revolutionary, evolutionary and all points in between. I have a 14 year old daughter who totally enjoys the Lovehammers. We went as a family to the Metro. Best family time we have spent in a long time! yakketyyak, if you go to the original post and click the quote marks in the upper right hand corner, the person's comments will be "boxed."

Personally, I'm tired of all the pop music crap that is played now. I want some ROCK! And the Lovehammers give me that! There was a time when the pop music scene was dominated by great rock 'n' roll acts, not all this rap/hip-hop/r&b stuff with the endless vocal gymnastics. Thankfully, there seems to be a resurgence in straight-forward rock music. What was considered "alternative" rock is now getting very mainstream attention. In response to the OP, how would doing "more covers" help make the Lovehammers LESS dated?

Hey I agree with tooks, they make me feel young again when I was a concert goer and music is all that mattered to me, they are so very special and so hot to look at, and my kids 12 and 9 also love them, so that must mean they are not out dated just awesome rockers! Andrea

WOW boo! You certainly have stirred up the masses! ;D I'm on the Lovehammers bandwagon, and DO NOT share your opinion, but thanks for posting! I'm enjoying reading the discussion. for whatever band you prefer, darlin!
