Free Marty Casey & the Lovehammers show today
Marty Casey & the Lovehammers, rock musicians from Chicago's South Side, will give free concerts in Tinley Park and Homewood for the grand opening of Best Buy stores.
The band will play 40-minute acoustic sets at 6 p.m. today at Best Buy at 17800 S. Halsted St. in Homewood and 7 p.m. April 29 at Best Buy at 7300 191st St. in Tinley Park.
As the runner-up on CBS's "Rock Star: INXS," Casey, of Beverly, earned his longtime band an opening slot on INXS's world tour. Now he's working on material for their next album, and co-writing with Tim McGraw and possibly Jon Bon Jovi.
"I want to have lots of material because when the second album comes along I've got to be ready," Casey said Thursday on the phone from New York before boarding a plane to Chicago.
