I think it was a compliment to Marty. He wasn't right for INXS but this type of music would be more his speed. Of course, Entertainment Weekly is lame to not know he's already got a band and doesn't need Supernova.
Every week when I open my EW I'm hoping I see a Love Hammers review. Now that would be a great way to see Marty's name in that magazine.

I am here to post a rebuttal: After re-reading that EW quote, I am here to say that I was wrong in my assumption. I stand corrected: "paging Marty Casey" IS a compliment, and yes, I agree that it refers to Marty as "coming to the rescue of a lame idea" (I quote myObsess10n and most of you). I apologize for my former, negative connotation.

Whatever it means... Marty was mentioned and I love that! It's a terrific prompt for out-of-the-loop souls to say to themselves, "wonder what Marty's up to".

i dont belive marty would leave the lovehammers again to be oncontest, they might want marty as something like dave narravo did.but if the lovehammers are on the road he is not going to leave that. I know that long time groups have broken up before, But the Lovehammers have been more than brothers for a long time. They have been through the worst with eachother and have pulled through. Marty won't break up a good thing at this point of his carreer.

There are several artists who have stayed with a band and also had solo careers at the same time. Marty likes to be really busy. There's no reason why he can't do both. And that would be fine with me! That means we might get twice as much of him!

When I read it, I could see it meaning two different things. But, I really think it was a positive thing, as in he could save the show from being so sucky. Maybe that's my Marty/Lh mindset, that it's all good, but...
Has EW done a review of LH's CD?
If they haven't, could we turn this into an opportunity to get them to review it. (My subscription to EW expired I think. RL has been so busy lately that I forgot about it.)

(My subscription to EW expired I think. RL has been so busy lately that I forgot about it.) Good idea Ceeje. EW has not reviewed the CD yet. I posted this awhile ago in the Street Team section so I'll move it here as well. I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly and they have a nice music section which has reviews of new CD's a Download This box and a separate supplement called Listen to This with all music info for subscribers. They have reviewed Switch and reported on RSINXS where they favored Marty. Let's see if we can get a review for Lovehammers CD or some buzz in the supplement for new music! Here is the link to email the editors: letters@ew.com Or Mail: Entertainment Weekly, 1675 Broadway, New York, NY 10019. Correspondence should include the writer's full name, address, and home telephone

I wrote in when beachgirl posted the info and I made it one of the "What to Do For..." in the ST section.
It's a great idea! They obviously like him and what he did on RS.

I go with the positive theory. Regardless, it keeps his name in the public.
