I don't know where to post this because anything not supporting Marty is attacked, and told it does not belong in the thread.
This post is by a real "insider" and explains a lot like why there hasn't been a Lovehammers CD out for years.
It must have been very difficult for the rest of the band (and their families) as they couldn't move on all this time...waiting....then dumped. I wish them much luck!
Anyway, here is the letter:
I guess I will just speak of the current events, no reason to go back to the Reality show stuff. At the beginning of this year I received a call from Jeremy Carson (aka Jeremy Guns, like I said b4, he is no relation at all to Tracii, just something they thought was funny). He asked me if I wanted to go out with them to Tour Manage a 3 week tour with them. The first thought that ran through my head was that I should run it by Lh. So I told him I would let him know and I called Dino. He already knew about it because he told Jeremy to call me. So knowing that Lh was cool with it, I gladly accepted.
I flew out to LA, met up with them and hit the road. Everything was cool, Jeremy and Tracii mentioned a few times that they talked to Marty about writing some tunes with them, which I didn't find out of the ordinary because Marty has been writing with everyone except his band for some time now. Jeremy and Tracii also said they were going to steal Marty from Lh but it seemed to be in a joking manner. I basically laughed it off.
So, I get home from the tour and see Marty and mention the things Tracii and Jeremy were saying. Marty confirms that he is writing with them but insists he will not sing with them.
After Marty comes back from the first writing session with them, without going into detail, I would have bet my life there would have been no way possible that he would even consider singing/joining them just by the things that were said.
Then the news, he is joing them, because they are touring and putting out an album that he wrote. I am truly amazed that in the 2 years or so since the Reality show, there was never a new Lh album yet he can go to Canada and write one in less than a month. I am also amazed that he wanted to tour, since the reason Lh did not tour after the Get Live tour is mainly because he did not want to for one reason or another.
I am all for someone not wanting to do something for their own reasons or just because they are worn out from it, but be a man and admit it. Don't lie to your so called friends and your fans. He couldn't admit he was burnt out with the band or whatever he wants to call it. He rather stayed with it and did as little as possible, he played the shows when he had to and got paid for them until something else came along. I am sure he would have toured solo again, but I don't think it was as great as he expected. Honestly, the only time I ever felt that I was betraying the band was when I went with him on his solo tour. Even though the rest of the guys were all cool with it, I felt like I was doing something wrong, but he was a friend and asked for my help. And in turn, he helped me because my source of income is the band and when they are not playing, I am not being paid.
My theory is this: Tracii knew when their singer, went to Mexico with the drummer, that he would use the name or say it. I am still unsure why they went together in the first place because they really did not get along (Singer and drummer). The only reason I can think of is that Tracii wanted him out.....again, 25 years later. Can anyone explain why only the singer was fired and not the drummer? Tracii was in the position to offer Marty a good sum of someone elses money to come sing with them. That is the only logical conclusion I can some up with based on what I have seen and heard. It obviously is not because they are playing larger venues than Lh would have played. It is obviously not that they draw more people than Lh did. It is obviously not because they make more than Lh does at their gigs. Has to be bribery. Again, this is just a theory based on what I have seen/heard/read.
I want to reiterate that I am not here to slander anyone in LAG or MC. I just want everyone to know what is going on. I hate it when people think they know what is going on because they have seen Lh perform 20 times or because Marty remembers their name. Most of you have no idea what goes on and that is how it should be, most of the time. But times like these need to be clarified because it could easily be misunderstood.
I will gladly listen to any comments made and if you have questions about anything, send them to me in my question area, I will answer them, honestly. I have no reason to lie. And if Marty or any of the other LA GUNS members would like to comment or correct me, you are more than welcome to do it here or anywhere you like. You know how to reach me.
