I'm really incredibly obsessed with this new album. We are tracking guitars today and it cool being involved in deciding on guitar tones and style of play. This is Big Al's first record. He's 19 and it's cool getting to show him riffs to the tunes I wrote and he learns to play them way better than me in about 5 minutes. Feels like a have a cool younger brother. He tore it up in the studio today. Really proud of him.
One of the crew, Dave, made chilli from scratch and it's about time to take a break and eat. I think I actually put on a few pounds while I have been here.
Toughest time of the day is when I go to bed. I turn the lights off and kinda obsess about following a new direction. It's incredibly hard but in my heart feels like the right place to be. I'm working hard from the moment I open my eyes till I can manage some sleep. It's a different place to be when absolute passion and creativity are met with sadness. I'm writing about it and living it. Hard days...
