I found this interview with JD in a magazine, I thought the hammerheads might want to read it because it mentions Marty and Lovehammers and how JD doubts that the Lovehammers will be the INXS support in Australia.
If it's not in the right place, please move it.
Rock Star:INXS winner JD Fortune now INXS's frontman, answers his critics.
*From the first track on Switch, "Devil's Party", it's spooky how much you sould like Michael Hutchence... JD: We're both tenors and there's a similar sort of dirtiness in our voice. Bit I just sound like me. I listen to myself five years ago and I sound exactly the way I do in "Devil's Party".
* What do you think about the negative comments about the show made by (ex-frontman) Jon Stevens? JD: I think Jon Stevens is an amazing vocalist. If he put out a CD tomorrow, I would buy it. He's got a good voice for singing and he should probably just keep singing.
* Do you regret anything you did on the show? JD: I never regret anything that I do, Ever. I got in trouble for saying I like INXS songs. Somebody decided to make a big deal of it- I think it was Marty- and I found myself with a big bullseye on my chest, in a house with 12 people who didn't like me but didn't know why they didn't like me.
* When there were fewer people in the house, did you grow close to them? JD:Yeah, I grew close to Mig and Suzie. Everyone else- whatever.
* So you and Marty aren't the best of friends? JD:I don't really know the man. I just saw how he treats people and how he treated me, and I realise it was in a competition setting so I can't hold it against him.
* He's doing some gigs with INXS in North America- will he be your support act when you tour Australia? JD: I don't think so, no. There are other acts out there that I believe would be better suited to Australia. I've just got a whole bunch of CD's I'm listening to- Rogue Traders, for example. I'd rather see a band like that.

OMG lala, when was this interview dated. I can't believe he said all of those really unkind things about Marty. It feels like somebody just flipped the coin over and we are seeing a very different side than what he has been showing on this tour. How sad. Not nice at all. Sharon

Well, the bright side would be our guys wouldn't be under the INXS rule anymore and could do their own tour complete with more intimate venues and meet and greets for all!

What magazine was this in? When is it dated? Is there a link to an online posting of it?

How did Sony PR let this out? Yikes they're on the same tour, label, I can only hope JD was trying to be "funny" and got misquoted. Although it sure don't sound like it

:'(That is the complete opposite of what I thought the relationship between Marty and JD was. I really thought they were friends! Have I been living under a rock? And I wonder what JD meant by the way Marty treats people. I can't imagine him treating anyone with less than the utmost respect. This came right out of left field for me. It's rather disappointing.

I'm having some serious scepticism here- I hope the OP will give us the reference for this interview- name of magazine and date- they had the word for word interview so they should know where it came from ??

Yeah could be someone just trying to make it look like JD and Marty don't get along. I will not believe it until I know the source and read it for myself.

I think it is great that people are holding off judgment until we see a source. It just pays to wait rather than jump to conclusions.

sorry guys i haven't been online much today, i read it in the Australian TV week, it was for the first week of Janurary. I'm not sure if it's on the site, I know there is a site though somewhere. I'll try and find it. I just wrote the interview right off the article. Maybe JD was just feeling intimidated by the attention Marty and the Lovehammers have started to get and that he isn't getting so much.

Whether he intended to or not JD just sounds like a complete jerk in this interview-and not just about Marty. But what a let down after thinking he & Marty were good friends. And what does JD mean he doesn't know why no one in the house liked him??? How can he even say that ?

I know all about the Australia TV week publication. It is real tabloidy. I run a couple of other fansites and have purchased several of them on ebay because TV shows I was doing a fan site for had their pics on the cover. But every article in them sounds like something out of the National Enquirer. My bet is that this magazine took several different interviews and strung them together out of context to make both JD and Marty look like they are feuding. This tabloid thrives on so-and-so is feuding stories. I say consider the source, and if it is the Australian TV week... enough said. They are pretty low in credibility.

Remember the live interview in Australia where Kirk and JD were snugged up on the couch? JD said negative things about Marty on that too, regarding the writing of the song Pretty Vegas and not wanting bad karma with the song...what goes around comes around, that sort of thing. I can't remember now where the link to that is...but it amazed me to see that before the tour even started! I thought they had lost their minds, possibly thinking that maybe since they were in AU, who would see it in North America? As a librarian, I also caution to consider the source. The one we saw with our own eyes, ok, the tabloids, well, take those with a grain of salt....

I'm not too impressed by JD. Why must he rain on the parade? I think they know Marty & LHs are creeping behind them & have an immense following & will go very far.
There is no need to bad mouth and put someone down unless they are insecure and less confident. It's just a facade and he's probably jealous.

If JD is going to say bad things like that, he should just lose his voice so he can't say bad things anymore.
