Remember the live interview in Australia where Kirk and JD were snugged up on the couch? JD said negative things about Marty on that too, regarding the writing of the song Pretty Vegas and not wanting bad karma with the song...what goes around comes around, that sort of thing. I can't remember now where the link to that is...but it amazed me to see that before the tour even started! I thought they had lost their minds, possibly thinking that maybe since they were in AU, who would see it in North America? As a librarian, I also caution to consider the source. The one we saw with our own eyes, ok, the tabloids, well, take those with a grain of salt.... That is the first thing I thought of when I read this... that live interview. I would not be suprised if this is 100% true. But if it is from a tabloid, then at least part of it is probably made up.

I think that we shouldn't worry about this article. From everything we have heard/seen coming from the Tour, there is much mutual respect and admiration between Marty, LH, INXS and JD. The proof is there as we have heard from every tour report. Let's just not assume the worst and not bad mouth JD, INXS or whomever. LH and INXS are all on tour together right now and all are doing a fine job. Let's not go looking for trouble that doesn't seem to be there.

this article has been brought up on the Lovehammer board. here's the link to the jd site that posted it. You have to read through a few posts before you get to this part of the interveiw. fortune448.net/forum/index.php?s=9d16a7104634877068407c70e9981cf6&showtopic=3736&st=0 It seems from that it's from early Dec. It's kinda of a interesting thread to read. Alot of anger towards Marty from some JD fans that I don't get. they keep talking about how Marty backstabbed jd during the show and talked behind his back. I can't figure out what they are talking about. I never saw him say anything mean about JD or anyone for that matter. But I guess it's all on how you want to twist it. I love how some JD fans think that this is still a contest. I mean how many Marty fans really wanted him to win? I never wanted someone to lose so bad in my life. I was with the rest of the Lovehammers."second place, second place"

I wanted Marty to win, but only because Marty wanted to win. I really wanted him back with Lh. I'm really glad about how things turned out. Marty is back with Lh. Jordis has her own record deal. I think Suzie is even working on her own record. It's all good! ETA: I really wish the bitter feelings between the Marty and JD fans would end. (I know a lot of people are already over that, but some are not.) I think we ought to modify the Lovehammers motto to "Spread LOVE, Not Hate."

It seems like some of JD's fans can't handle Marty's success. While JD won the gig and was a better fit for INXS than Marty was, Marty was still the fan favorite. He was in the bottom three only once, got more encores than JD (including his original song, which he wrote by himself), and Sony/Burnett wanted him to go out as a solo act ... so I think there's some jealousy at work here. I also question the validity of the original interview, but it's clear that some of JD's fans just won't get on board and wish them both well. It will be interesting to see where they both are two years from now.

I think that we shouldn't worry about what other fan groups are posting on their boards. The Fortune 448 crowd are rabid fans, no doubt. They also get angry about things they read on our board. So just ignore it.
I don't get why fans have to trash some other performer just to try to build up their preferred singer. Much better to direct energy toward promoting Marty than trashing or worrying about JD and vice versa.

Very wise Cindy... thanks for your words.
I'm just going to hope that the negativity is all behind those two.

I don't even think there ever was any real negativity between them. They snuck out of the mansion together! There may have been some competition, which is natural under the circumstances, but they seemed tight. I can't imagine INXS, who certainly could observe the interpersonal relationships between all of them, would have asked Marty to join them on the road if there were going to be problems. I still question the validity of the interview.

Someone..I can't remember who said that J.D. came out to Marty's tour bus to give him a hug and chat...that doesn't sound like the actions of someone who has serious problems with the other person. Also, Marty and the boys have been really outspoken about how incredibly all of INXS has been treating them. I can't imagine if any problems existed they would be rolling out the red carpet for the LH and offering to help them any way they can. Even if J.D. felt this way during this interview (which I doubt) it's all water under the bridge now.

I agree with you also! I remember back when JD said something of the sorts that while every one was trying to learn INXS songs he knew them and always loved them. Every one was angry at him. That was way back in June! After that they seemed to support each other and even looked like they were having fun like at JD's birthday party. Martys touring with JD, and the exposure helps our boys. Marty seems to have enough on his plate to worry about than to let little things like this distract him.
