fortune448? Yes If you have ever been over there it can be a bash party. Have no idea why I subject myself to that sometimes. No bashing parties over here...Thanks anyway! We're here to watch our rising stars, not stifle them...should I look for Marty on All My Children? Oh he would SO fit in to that...there he can bolster his referenced acting career. Please.... you know, you've really struck a cord with me, Boo, I'm assuming that was your intention...I'm a nice person with a great big heart and normally I'd keep my big mouth shut...HOWEVER in this instance I feel a need to tell you that I wish you wouldn't put Marty and The Lovehammers in a negative light here. It just doesn't belong on his fan site.

I have a suggestion. Let Boo talk to himself/herself. ;D If we don't respond, there's nothing to say. We know s/he's wrong. That's enough for me.

I'm back to also remind most everyone that most of my comments are positive about Marty and the bands strong points. However,I am definitely an analytical type person, always trying to evaluate the whole picture....probably as wrong as I am right when doing so. At any rate, I definitely was NOT a Fortune fan during the show and haven't changed my mind .
That being said......it's now "So Long" for this nice site. I'm now heading back to Bowiewonderworld. Good luck to all. Boo

I agree with all of you, except Boo. I've said it before, now I'll say it again...Marty Casey & Lovehammers WILL rock our world for the rest of our lives! They will be to my kids what the Rolling Stones are to my generation, and The Beatles are to my parents. Whether you like the music or not (not that that is possible, come on now, it's Marty!!!) whenever you see their faces plastered on a poster or hear that first bar of a song on the radio, there will no mistaking who they are. But that is my opinion, and I too, feel that I'm right...

You know what though? We are not helping to convert Boo or anyone else by telling them to leave. Boo did not bash the LHs. She's just not (YET) convinced of their greatness as we are.
Boo, have you heard them on the radio interview? Where they played a few acoustic songs?

And I don't fault you Boo for being analytical.... I married an anaylitical man and I love him dearly! It's just that I really have my my hopes up for Marty and our band. I guess I don't want my bubble burst....that's all.

Boo. I don't mind your opinions and you have every right to them. You can't act like a troll though and expect to get people's respect on this site. BTW.. xsiveone is wondering what's up with this third person thing?

When a thread is titled "Boo here stirring things up...", it sounds like you're looking for an argument. Many people in the thread said you were entitled to your opinion. They were being very nice about it. I don't see how you can blame the posters here for your leaving the site when you seem very antagonistic. I'm sorry, but you're not likely to find many people here who agree that the CD deserves 2 stars. We are Hammerheads. We believe in the Lovehammers and their music.

My two cents is this: In 4 hours I am driving nearly 800 miles to hear and see Marty and his bandmates tear up the stage. He already is HUGE.

ehhh..USA Today (not crazy about the mag anyway) gives a bad review...as marty says, so what so what??? Every artist gets bad reviews. Some of the greatest artists of all time got bad reviews once (or several) times in their lives, even during their peek. soooo what if the cd gets bad reviews. Critics do NOT represent the public as a whole. Only time will tell (maybe after the tour and promotion) how well the CD was precieved. And even IF it won't be precieved well by the masses, the Lovehammers still will be going strong b/c of it's old and rapidly growing NEW fanbase.
Now about the acting thing, if the hammers make it big...it might be an option for Marty. LOL I wouldn't mind seeing him on the big screen, who knows what other hidden talents he might have? LOL If he can act, get a good script, why not? I think that'll be really cool hahaha but that is talking in the faaaaaaaarr distant future. Lets take one thing at a time...the MUSIC comes first lol

For anyone who wants to read it - www.usatoday.com/life/music/reviews/2006-01-30-listen-up_x.htm"Marty Casey and The Lovehammers (* *) Casey was a rock belter for Chicago's Lovehammers before he ended his run on Rock Star: INXS as runner-up. That dubious reality-show triumph boosted the band's visibility, if not its credibility, and led to this major-label monument to mediocrity. Casey has bluster but little distinction. The band is solid enough but can't make symphonic marvels out of kazoo-worthy exercises such as The Clinic and Trees, crippled by the silliest, most primitive romantic sentiments since "Me Tarzan, you Jane." Brash standout Straight as an Arrow is the only track any self-respecting iPod would welcome. —Gundersen" As I've said before - no critic can tell any of us how the music, lyrics, or Marty's unique Martyness MAKES US FEEL!! And as more people get the opportunity to be wowed by him in concert and in new recordings - see how the entire band treats their fans with respect and appreciation - I still feel that Lovehammers will be changing people's lives for quite some time to come!! I just sent a very friendly response to Gunderson at USA today. I suggested that Gunderson attend an upcoming show and get the true vibe from the band. I'll let you know if I get a response.

Newbie here putting in her 2 cents...
First I think the LH will make it BIG, but I do think that it will take a couple years. I feel that them being on Tour with INXS has many positives, but I think it also has some drawbacks.
They need to get one or two videos out, and soon !! VH1, MTV 2 and FUSE would be big exposure and may do more for them the the concert tour.
B. They need TV apprearances, who cares what critics write in magazines. Marty is very charasmatic and TV exposure (especially daytime shows) would be a huge plus. 5-10 minutes of seeing Marty and your hooked.
Hopefully they are able to find some time to write new songs so when the tour ends they can go staight to the studio. My feeling is it will take another good album - something totally new and Fresh, and you will see them rrise to the top.
This is a whole new arena for them and the next couple years will be a growing/ learning experience. hey have talent and my gut instinct says they can, and WILL go far. Their fan based has expolded and is growing daily. We are devoted, and believe in them with all our heart and soul. I have never taken an interest in a band like I have with the LH. I have made it my personal mission to help in anyway I can, and I know there are thousands of us who feel the same way.
I do agree with Boo that Marty has potential for acting. That thought has crossed my mind several times since reading a post on another board , and imagining Marty as Anne Rice's Lestat. Yummy !!

She loves you, yeah yeah yeah She loves you, yeah yeah yeah She loves you, yeah yeah yeah YEAH!

Nope... don't figure he is an actor... an Artist and Performer.. YES! I too was among the "not too thrilled" crowd when I first heard of Marty (returned to U.S. after RS had ended) and the Lovehammers... BUT... since meeting with them and seeing their performance in Seattle on 19 Jan.. as you can tell by my logon... guess who is a faithful follower now?!?!?! If folks haven't SEEN them perform yet while on tour... well.. you know that answer... And yes, I carry a couple of their CD's in my truck now... gotta spread the LOVE!!!!
