Kenny Rogers at #24 beat out the Lovehammers? What on earth is this country coming to...... Need more airtime, wish the stations would actually read their emails... Thanks for the link, ultraviolet - #67 STILL isn't too bad...

I heard a trivia question today. What album went platinum without ever charting in the Hot 100 albums? Violent Femmes.
Congrats Lovehammers! You did something that the Violent Femmes and their platinum album never did. It will only be a matter of time that you will reach the same heights. Charts suck. They don't reflect good music out there.

Switch sold 34,000 the first week, I think. It opened at #17 and did not climb from there. It did have some pre-release ads and publicity. Plus, wasn't Pretty Vegas released before the album? I think Dino said about a month ago that if they sold half that much it would be great (paraphrasing). Considering the lack of publicity, lack of early release of the single, not enough units shipped the first week (stores ran out), etc., etc., I think they did pretty well. Most debut albums don't hit the top 100. I think it will climb steadily, especially once Trees gets some radio play.

Hi,
This is my first time posting. I'm an INXS fan but come here to find news about Marty since I like the LH's too. I have the CD and am really enjoying it!
Just wanted to correct the poster... INXS did debut at #17, but there first weeks sales were actualy 76,000 not 34,000.
I wouldn't worry too much about first weeks sales... LH's are in a building mode and sales will just increase I'm sure. I was just reading that Yellowcards previous album debut sold only 11,000 the first week but they went on to sell 1,660,000!
I think LH's will do great!

I think it is a great start- and the new review up on the home page is AWESOME! The spotlight part on Marty is a very nice read ( I took special note when he says he is keeping his head on straight and not partying too much- GOOD ON YA MARTY), and the CD review KICKS. This is just the beginning of what is sure to be an incredible ride for this band

Billboard swapped out its chart for this week, so you can see MCLH on the boards. They did better than INXS by nearly 20. It would be nice if they could stay consistent like INXS has with sales (or get better). I'd hate to see them drop off from the opening spot. I think that sales will only get better though considering that a lot of people probably don't even know that the album is out. www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/chart_display.jsp?f=The+Billboard+200&pageNumber=Top+51-100&g=AlbumsOh.. Remember that Marty did an interview with People Magazine. It's my guess that it will be in tomorrows issue. They usually do a one page interview and then interview the album in the music section. Hopefully, they get a good review. If they do, I'm sure that it will sell a lot of albums.

My bad. I didn't realize Yellowcard's previous album debuted at 11,000. Wow. This is encouraging!!

That is something that I have always been confused about. Does the billboard 200 only reflect CD sales, or does any of that count album downloads off of places like itunes? Is the Internet sales a download only figure or does that count places like Amazon? It seems to me from all the buzz I have been reading on the various sites, they had to sell way more than 14,000 in downloads. Anyway, if anyone has insight on what makes up each category I would most appreciate it.

The Billboard chart also said "Ringtones coming soon" !! I can't wait to hear Lovehammers when my phone rings ! The only problem will be in choosing a song.
