I just got my tickets for the 2007 Peoples Choice Awards. Any advice how I should approach street teaming an event like this or do you think it is even possible? I know that I will be in the balcony...Help!!! I have never tried to "Spread the Love" at an event like this.

This might help..... Never being to an awards show I would think attending a concert could be close. Chatting up people handing out wristbands. Check out the Street Team Stores on the sub board at the top of the ST Page. Another idea would be to PM some of the names on the threads ie: ST a Rookies perspective. Thank you Trees! I'll look at the thread and go to the store. This is my first major show to attend and I'm still new to street teaming....Peoples Choice is a major Hollywood event, I would hate to miss this chance to "spread the love". The only rule going into the show is no pictures, or recording devices. I think I can bring cards and whatever else I can hide in my formal wear... It's just strict security. Most of the time it's metal detectors and bag searches. We'll see...  |

I'm really getting excited to hear about your experience Star!!! They will not let us take camera's in to the venue. However, I have all my steet team item's ready.
I wish I could bring everyone with me. You are all such great people. Maybe, I will meet you at a LH event. I know that I would trade that for the People's Choice event anytime.
The event is this Tuesday the 9th!!! I have a red dress or a black one that I can use. I want the red one...I just bought some great little red heels with a black lace trim...I love my heels!!! If not, then I will wear the black dress with my my black heels.
I will post about what happened at the event...

 HEY STARCROSSED!!  You go, girl  The Peoples Choice Awards, aahhh, I'm jealous!! Tomorrow night, as if I have to tell you. I'll be watching so give us a sign when the camera pans - a little wave or tug the ear (ala Carol Burnett.) Your plan for of ST is wonderful, thank you for doing that. Star enjoy the People's Choice Awards tonight. I will also look for you in the audience. I haven't been to an award show but the last time I was in LA a few years ago, my boyfriend and I stood with the photographers as the stars entered the Beverly Hilton Hotel ballroom for the Golden Eagle Awards. Good luck with your Street Teaming. You will have to tell us all about it tomorrow!! It is about to start in a 1/2 hour. |

 I just came back from the award show. I had a blast!!! First my cousin arrived at my house and we went to the Shrine Aud. We were shuttled from the parking lot to the line for general admission in the rear of the building. I passed out cards and talked to people in the shuttle and well waiting line. Then going in, we went to the balcony, sat down in the middle and watched all the action for about an hour, before the show started. The security was very tight, and we had a large amount of ushers all around us. So I didn't leave my seating area, however....... I decided to ST the audience around me in my section. I even met one woman who was so excited to hear about Lh. She had gone to a show at the Viper Room and loved LH. She just didn't know anything about the band. She stated that her brother was a owner of a large hip night club in LA and that she wanted some cards to put at the bar of the club to help spread the love about LH!!!! I talked with her for a few minutes, told her about the different web sites...she was excited!! I passed out lots of cards and talked with different people. My cousin was a little embarrassed, but after a while she was having fun watching me talk to complete strangers about LH. The stars came in right as the show had seven minutes to start, and the rest is history. The dresses and ultra thin stars were everywhere. I am a big fan of Heroes and was happy to see the cast on stage. The how experience was great. I had fun spending time with my cousin...who took some pictures with her camera phone. She will email them to me, and hopefully i can post them up. Street Team I did my best...hope I made you proud!!!  My cousin and I getting ready to leave to the show.  My red dress...my shoes are cute, but hubby didn't take a picture of them!! |
