Hey Marty,
This is something that I just had to show you! My cousin, Kate and I are both students at Oregon State University, and last week, Kate told me of the last homework assignment of the year in her speech class. The assignment was to write a 30 second toast to anyone or anything. She didn’t know what to write about, and this was the day after the LA Guns news was announced, so I said, “Hey, why don’t ya toast Marty Casey! He just joined a new band!” So today, to my amazement, I get an email from my cousin with the following toast attached that she wrote, and read in front of the whole class:
"A couple days ago, I heard some really shocking news: Marty Casey, lead singer of the Chicago-based rock band, Lovehammers, is set to become the new lead singer of the band LA Guns. For those of you who aren't familiar with Marty, this guy is the epitome of a rock star. He was the runner-up on the reality TV show, Rock Star: INXS and was a fan-favorite throughout the entire season. Surely, this was a difficult decision for Marty to make, considering the Lovehammers have been together for quite some time. But there is no doubt that this change is for the better. Marty Casey is an incredibly talented artist and undoubtedly, he will go on to create even more unforgettable hits with his new band. So, with that, I'd like to make a toast to Marty in congratulating him on the exciting new road that lies ahead. Here's to the new voice of LA Guns."
HOW AWESOME IS THAT??!!! I hope she got an A on it! Looking forward to seeing you with the Guns in Portland!
