Oh! I had to sign on and post to this!! amazing! thank you Amy. This was my very first RS show that I watched and me and hubby weren't too impressed. It was just O...K... THEN.. Marty came out and started singing Lithium! I was on the edge of my chair saying Hell Ya! my teenage daughter came running out of her room and said Damn! he's really good. From then on... I was hooked and knew that he would/could do great things for the music industry.

I dare anyone to say that they didn't feel faint when he pulled his own hair.

This performance is what hooked me.....I was sitting on my couch in the living room, and as he belted the lyrics out, I felt my face getting hot. Now that's energy!!!

I was so looking forward to seeing this performance that week, but a huge thunderstorm knocked out our power. We had a little battery-operated TV that had almost no picture, but it did have sound. So that night, I heard this performance more than I saw it. Even so, I was cheering, because I knew he knocked it outta the park!!! I got to watch it online the next day, and much later on a DVD. But I'll never forget that first night, and being so thankful that at least I could hear it live. The one word that most often comes to my mind when I think about Marty's performances, either solo or with a band, is "THRILLING". Each song takes you on the ride of your life--the most thrilling one ever! He is the most phenomenal performer I've ever seen. Add to that his songwriting, musicality, and fantastic voice, and you have a truly rare talent. I don't know of anyone else in the business that has the complete combination the way he does. He still blows my mind on a regular basis, nearly 3 years on, even with knowing him offstage and having shared laughter and silliness with him as a friend. Even still, his talent just knocks me out. My hat is off to you, Marty, in utter respect and appreciation.

OMG If anyone could sit still during this performance. I would pronounce them DEAD. Every time I hear it , it knocks me for a loop, I really cannot sit still or stand still. LOVE IT> It is one of my favorites. It is hard to chose, anytime he sings, it seems THAT is my favorite.
I just saw him a couple of weeks agao at the BIG RACE BOAT bash in Sarasota and I was in seventh heaven. His personality comes forth and beckons you in to whatever he is singing.
I just love him !!!!! lucky people who have him as their friend, he must be fantastic as a person.
I wish he would make a CD, all his own!!!!!
Jeanne, a fan since the first Rock Band stint.
