The show was amazing!! Marty came out in full 'Marty mode'. I mean, mad conductor, bendys, climbing stuff, you name it. He was in the zone. He looked happy. His vocals were great. What struck me most was how comfortable and familiar they (L.A. Guns and Marty) looked and played together. There seems to be some great chemistry there, even though this was only his second performance with them.
I must confess I had no previous L.A. Guns knowledge. I was there for Marty and I was even prepared to kind of hate the Guns lol... . However, the band blew me away. That Tracii Guns is some sort of guitar deity. There was this great part in which Marty made some vocal sounds that he mimicked with the guitar and vice versa...it was really cool.
The venue was really small but packed and the crowd was very much into it. They went wild for Marty. I don't think a lot of people actually knew who he was, but EVERYONE seemed to 'get' his essence. He mesmerized them. The crowd was in awe of him. When the show was over a LOT of people went to over to meet him and take pics with him. He was a HIT, and he was in great spirits. He was very friendly and talkative and sweet to everyone. I wish I was back there with him right now. What a sweet soul.
I was blown away by a few songs I didn't expect to hear that night, including Trees, Wish you were here, and This Town. They also did a "you can't always get u want" cover.
I wish I was better at this review thing LOL... but to wrap up: he ROCKED San Juan and seemed happy and it was lovely to see him. Hope you all like the pics from the show. Enjoy!!
