Hi all -
This is a bit of an awkward first post, but it's for a good cause, so hopefully you will bear with me. I come by here on a regular basis to check out what is going on, but I have confined my posting to rockband. (So hello to any RBers here.) As I can't keep up there, I've tried to keep from getting too involved in other places as well. However, there is something important that brings me here today.
I would like to pass on a request I received from my local radio station, 96Rock in Raleigh NC. As some of you are probably aware, 96Rock has been very supportive of the Lovehammers. They have been playing Trees from the time it as released, they featured them on the Jan. 16th Music Meeting, and Foster interviewed Marty around that some time. (Both are available on the 96Rock website 96rockonline.com/listings14682.asp, if you haven't heard them.)
96Rock is currently involved with a charity. Now, I know radio stations get involved with charities all the time - but this one is close to their hearts. The charity is St. Baldrick's, which raises money for childhood cancer. 96Rock became involved with this organization a few months ago, after a very close friend of the 96Rock staff lost her 10-month old daughter to cancer.
Several of the DJs (including Foster) are getting their heads shaved to raise money. I thought that some of the folks here might want to return the support 96Rock has shown the Lovehammers, and make a donation to help them out. Donations can be given in each DJ's name. While Foster seems to be the one taking the lead on promoting the Lovehammers, I am sure donations would be appreciated regardless of which DJ they go through.
You can find out more and/or make a donation by following the link from their main webpage (96rockonline.com/). The head shavings will take place Saturday, so they are hoping to have donations in by then. Thanks for any help you can offer, and a special thanks to Cindy, for encouraging me to post this here.
