Hey all!
I've just added a new code to the board that restricts the 18 & Over board by age. You won't have to be put into a group by a mod or admin anymore, so long as you are 18.
I would really appreciate it if everyone would give it a try to see if it works okay for everyone. If it does work well, we'll be removing the 18 & Over member group (because it won't be needed anymore). This will clear up everyone's miniprofile and will hopefully make it easier to access the board.
Please report all problems here.

Please note:
The first time you try to access the board, you will have to follow the instructions at the bottom of the error message. View your profile then go back to the 18 & Over board.

Modify your profile to have your age showing Lisa. That should do it.

My age was set up to show and I still couldn't get in at first. Even though I didn't change anything to my profile, I selected modify profile at the bottom and it worked.

All you ought to have to do is view your profile page so that a cookie loads for the code saying that you are 18 or older.
Then, go back to the 18 & Over board and it should let you in.

I did already have the date of birth in there -and age was displayed. After trying a couple of times, I did what nlt said also, and still no go. So: 1) could it be the abacus computer I use at work? 2) if not, i guess i can't play with the big kids.    |

It worked for me as well. I had my age set at no. Had to change it yo yes and hit modify. THen when I went back in it worked.

didn't work for me either - and I do have my browser set to accept cookies - I even tried leaving the site and coming back to see if that helped
I am using Windows IE7 - I have gone into my profile and hit modify profile several times -
The first error message said if you are over 18 click here - so I did that -- now the error message reads Sorry, but you do not have permission to access to this area.

yes Amy - it already did have "yes" for show age - but I clicked on it to "nudge" it - still no access probably just as well - I could get lost in there for hours, I'm sure!! ;D |

I do not WANT my age and birthday visible to everyone. I have to give up my privacy just so that I can continue to access the 18+ section where I have participated for over a year??

Nope, love...you don't have to give up your privacy. All you have to do is make it visible...then go into the 18+, then just re-modify your profile...easy breezy...that's what I did...it worked!

Lisa and oceancat, I think I've figured out why you can't access it. It's because you weren't ever put in to the 18 & Over group. That would be the second error message. I'll change you real quick and see it that works.
