Why it's been easy to get Lovehammers heard in the Philippines....
I didn't know about the Lovehammers until I followed the show Rockstar INXS and was absolutely capitivated by Marty Casey's performances. I was so intrigued by this talented singer/songwriter that I had to know his
background. Once I got to know Lovehammer music, I was hooked for life. Promoting them comes so easily because many Filipinos watched the show and was introduced to this rare and unbelievably brilliant talent we all love--Marty "Xavier" Casey. My nephews look up to him as a singer. The DJ's I've dealt with have nothing but "bravo" things to say about him. My opening line when I call radio stations up to land an on-air promotional gig is... have you heard of Marty Casey and the Lovehammers? "You meanthe guy who should have won the contest?" So my fellow hammerheads, it's not just my sweet talking that gets the Lovehammers air play but because they are a genuinely superb rock band. You all know that. It's not only "Trees" that the DJ's that have interviewed me end up playing but also "Hold On" and "The Riddle". Their whole debut album screaming rocks!
Certainly, my life has become more positive ever since I fell in love with the Lovehammers music. Life isn't as mundane anymore but majestically colourful. With the task of being Street Team Leader for the Philippines, I've discovered many things about myself that I never knew about. I realized that I wanna professionally promote upcoming artists and be part of radio broadcasting and marketing. I feel so happy when I do my radio stints about the Lovehammers. Talking about them and how great they are comes so naturally to me. I know I've never met them in person but their music speaks for itself and that is why I'm able to market them so well.
I've been a rock 'n roll music lover since I was little and I've never been drawn or affected by a singer as much as Marty Casey has mesmerized me--besides my long time favourite new wave/alternative rocker Robert Smith. But it's not only Marty who moves my musical soul but Dino Kourelis, Billy Sawilchik and Bobby Kourelis. Together, they are a powerhouse rock band that's electrified my entire being. My only hope is that I will one day soon be able to experience the great phenomena that is the Lovehammers live in concert as many other Hammerheads have had the privelege to. Currently, Sony Philippines hasn't distributed their CD yet and so I'm working real hard to get Lovehammers air play through my radio interviews. I will attempt to contact Sony Philippines and see what's happening with the CD. Wish me luck!
Finally, I'd like to say a special thank you to my friend Denise from Indiana who sent me an autographed Marty Casey and Lovehammers CD, MOMM and Ultrasound which I've been using to promote the band. Thank you as well to Jen from Georgia for editing my radio interviews. Thank you also to Helen from Australia for sending me a martycasey.org wristband which I passed onto DJ Ron of 103.5 KLITE FM Manila's New Alternative (we get along now ). "Maraming, maraming salamat" to my fellow Filipino Hammerheads Ara, Maricel, Mariette, and Doods for your neverending support.
...and to Marty, Dino, Bobby, and Billy...thank you for your music.
Forever a Hammerhead,
