Are the Live/Raw DVD's Out Of Print?

I'm asking because I've had mine on order for nearly two months now from Amazon and it said that I'd have to wait for 4-6 weeks on special orders. It also said that sometimes something goes out of print. I'd hate to keep waiting for a dvd that I may never get if I can buy one off of Ebay for a little more money.

I ordered mine around the first of Feb and it said that expected delivery date was between March 2-20. So...who knows. I know that if I don't get it by the middle of April, I'm going to look into it.

I got the DVD when it was still available from the original LH.com site. It's worth the wait, especially the unplugged set. Awesome.

I almost bought mine when I bought L'Strange and MOMM. In hindsight, I should've bought the Live/Raw dvd and The Riddle single from the site when I bought the two cd's. I also should've bought Ultrasound off of Ebay when it was only $50.

Hey xsiveone, I just bought a copy on ebay this week. It was buy it now for 25 bucks, so I did. What I didn't realize is that it is a copy. It has the original picture on the case, but the picture on the DVD itself is from the new cd. Then I checked ebay just now - lo and behold, the same seller selling another one! So, I don't know how you feel about copying and all that - I was so blinded by the buy it now and the good price I didn't even think that it might be a copy. All politics and laws aside, there is one on ebay right now for 25 bucks.
At least I can cancel my month long Circuit City order - unless this one doesn't work!

I have ordered Live/Raw from amazon too (along with the new cd) and it said they both should have been despatched by now but I have not had confirmation yet.

Shuckra -- I saw that seller on Ebay selling so-called new, but "opened" dvd's. It seemed like he had an awful lot of them, so I looked at some of his purchases on Ebay and they were for bulk dvd cases and inkjet cartridges for an Epson printer that prints labels onto cd/dvd printable media.

Your copy that you bought is going to work fine. It's just that it's a copy burned onto a recordable dvd instead of the commercial dvd that you'd get with the real thing. That's why the seller has a disclaimer saying that older dvd players might not play it. If your player has a problem reading recordable media, you might have a problem. It's too bad that he doesn't come out and say that. But then, he would be giving away his little enterprise if he did.

You might want to make a backup copy for yourself too because the dies on recordable media aren't as durable and don't last as long as with the commercial dvd's. If you don't make a backup copy, be careful not to scratch it because you can't really use those disc resurfacers on the recordable media because they are more delicate.

I just ordered from Amazon two weeks ago, I think, and their expected date to ship was April 7. So hopefully all will work out alright...

I just managed to get one off eBay with a Buy It Now price of $14 something, from seller videobarn who claims that all the DVDs are brand new and unopened, so keep your eyes peeled for something like that! I just ordered it now, too, so maybe they'll have another one up soon.

Hopefully it arrives soon and in good condition!

I ordered live/raw from Amazon a couple of months ago and just rec'd a notice from them that asks me to confirm that I still want it as it's taking so long to ship. There is no new delivery date. I live in hope....

Thanks for the heads up Luxie! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on one. After I got through the payment process, I went back and looked at their feedback. I know.. Smart move. Sheesh! I certainly hope that they are selling something that they have in stock and don't have to special order like with Amazon or Circuit City. This would suck because at least with Amazon or Circuit City, they don't charge you until it ships. If it ships at all..

We'll see...

So, that makes four copies I have on order. 2 from Amazon, 1 from Circuit City and 1 from the Ebay seller.

:-/I also ordered my Live/Raw about 1 month ago. In my experience Amazon is extremely slow in sending all LH material! It was so much easier when we could use the LH old web site. Lets hope Sony/Epic clues in that the LH fans would buy the pre-"Marty Casey & Lovehammers" merchandise if they re-released it.

xsiveone ... I ordered mine from the LH site in October and have yet to receive it. I emailed them in December and was told it would be on it's way. Finally, I gave up and bought it on ebay. I'm happy I did so. It's really terrific. I think it odd that it should take soooo very long for something to come through in this day and age if in fact it is available in actual real world can I touch it physical form. I'd say go for ebay and see how you fare. I too went the Amazon route and another route at that and kept having to reconfirm. At some point, it[s just better to hear that folks don't have it! Good luck. I agree with the person upthread who said the acoustic portion is amazing. On a happier note, I saw LH here in Washington on Saturday night and, while the Warner is NOT a good venue for rock and roll, and their set was too short at 45 minutes, they were terrific and blew INXS out of the water.

I just noticed on another thread yesterday that there was an "Easter Egg" on the DVD, with a short clip of Marty as a kid pretending to be a rock star. Look for it, just keep clicking at the main menu and it will come up. Cute

Well.. One down and three more to go. I suspect that the two that I have on order at Amazon will be cancelled as well. I also have to contact the Ebay seller selling dvd's that he doesn't have. What pisses me off about this seller is that they already have my money and I most likely won't be seeing the dvd from them either. They are still selling dvd's that they don't have, so beware.

Ugh, xsiveone, I'm just as frustrated as you. I might hold out another week to see if the seller gets the DVD but I might end up canceling my order if anything. I emailed him and he said they were still waiting for it but I could cancel my order whenever. If anything, we can always file a PayPal claim and that will get them to refund our money fast ;D

I had no idea that the seller didn't actually have the DVDs on hand, so sorry about giving you false hope =/. It is annoying though that he keeps putting them up on eBay even though he KNOWS its backordered!

I googled the DVD and most sites are backordered... I have a feeling this is going to be like the Ultrasound CD and we're only going to be able to get it on eBay.

No need to be sorry. It was worth a shot. I contacted this guy as well and he said that he needs to check into it. Worse comes to worse, I can ask for my money back.

I ended up doing what I didn't want to do. I purchased what I know is a pirated copy of it off of Ebay.
