Last night's show in Salt Lake City was good, but tonight's show in Boise goes in the really, really good category. The venue they played here, The Knitting Factory, is a great place to see bands. For comparison, I'd say the size and capacity are similar to the Metro in Chicago. There's a big stage, scaffolding on the sides (and you know what that means ), really good sound system.
Particularly considering it was a Monday night in Boise, the turn out was really great -- several hundred in attendance. Totally enthusiastic and into the show. The show was great. Tremendous energy. He got particularly big cheers for his vocals on Ballad of Jayne and You Can't Always Get What You Want. During the final song, Rip and Tear, Marty climbed the scaffolding and almost disappeared from view while Tracii and Chad had their soloing moments. While still in the scaffolding, Marty and Tracii did their give and take on the vocal/guitar work. Lots of smiles between the band members. Jeremy's take on STFU is really fun too. Loved that.
Fans of all ages, sizes. Teen boys in front bobbing their heads to Trees and old school LAG fans were reaching for Marty's hand during the show.
After the show, I just said a brief hello, told him the show was great. He was very warm and kind as he always is. Said he recognized me and my friends from the night before in Salt Lake City as well.
My friend Cecilia Ann got some more pictures tonight, so hopefully we can get her to post those again.
Just a really awesome show. Amazing fun. My friends and I loved it!
