I am definitely gonna try to be here but for us Aussies that makes it around about 12 noon lunch time on Monday the 22nd! Tough if you are at work and as it is summer here the middle of the day comes up so quick as we are normally outside in the warm sunshine getting a tan!! Or in my case out horsing around! Have to set my alarm on my cell phone to remind me to drop everything and come inside for the festivities. Better get myself organised and bring some good Aussie tucker to this shindig!! Cheers, Helen.

Helen, what are typical Aussie dishes for a Christmas party? I wish we could sample food here!

Is this when the "gift" will be presented to Marty? Does this mean Marty will be online for it? I noticed in the Burr Ridge thread that the "elves" were with Marty. Did you arrange this "virtual party" then? Does he know anything about it or the gift? Enquire-ing minds want to know! Is there a reason you don't want to answer my questions? I was at Burr Ridge [/IMG]
Hello? Elves? --- I'm still waiting for the few answers

Hi Nancy, Our weather forecast for Chrissy day here is for very warm and sunny, as usual! So we normally have our Christmas lunch on the farm out on our big verandah, we have around about 30 or so family and friends. Our family doesn’t have as many hot dishes as you guys in the USA probably do. The weather just doesn’t suit hot food for us downunder! The food we generally have is as follows; many different salads, pasta, potato, garden, coleslaw, bean salad, ham, roast chicken, turkey, lamb on spit, BBQ items, potatoes in foil, prawns, etc Veges (from our garden) Platters of salads ie; celery, carrot, cheese etc Desserts; Pavlova Cheescakes Fruit salads Trifle Ice cream Plum pudding & custard Snacks; Rumballs Ginger bread men Chocolates & Candy Home made hedgehog slice Home made passionfruit slice Watermelon slices Fruit mince pies Nuts Shortbreads Crackers & dips Drinks; Fruit punch Beer & some alcohol, altho not many drinkers in our family Nothing else really special I am sure there is so much more but just can’t think of it right now, everybody pitches in and brings something so not one person is doing all the cooking etc; has worked this way for years and always goes off well. We don’t really have any food that is special to Australia, except that it is summer and sunny here and you are in winter and cold there! A lot of arvo’s we end up down the beach for a game of frisbee or cricket which is highly unlikely for you guys! Looking forward to sharing my Aussie sunshine with you guys on the 21st, should be a great time!! I have started baking my Aussie passionfruit slice and hedgehog slices already!! The BBQ will be rolled out tomorrow! Cheers, Helen

I am so excited to see so many people showing up for the party! [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] It's going to be so fun to spend time with everyone again, and how often do you get to celebrate the holidays with all your friends throughout the states and beyond? We have such an amazing group of friends here! [/IMG] Now lets Party!!!!
So, to let everyone in on the joke - Chief Elf brought a variety of homemade cookies to the elves and Marty Santa. Well, apparently elves have a slight addiction to cookies and have the ability to inhale them at an alarming rate. Marty Santa had to carefully tuck his away in a safe place as the elves were on the prowl for more. And that is the cookie story.

The other 2 elves, and their giant chauffeur, do love cookies! ;D

No one can answer your questions. None of us have any idea why this is such a big deal to you. Please stop yelling on the board in bold and red. If you ask a question and it is not answered, there is usually no answer.

As for why I care, they seem like obvious questions.

Only 3 more days to the party Did I mention that the Elves keep a pet. He looks goofy but we love him. Don't forget BYOB. We will be raising a toast, or two, or three

Hey LL, I agree with ya, easy enough and light enough questions, maybe the "elves" are just too busy to answer right now??? IT IS THE SEASON to be merry, jolly, and full of Just come to the Christmas Party, enjoy the season with people, meet new friends, or come to tell someone to BITE YA, all is good and fun in Martyland.org here. If Marty comes, OH MY LORD, maybe he'll know where DINO IS? And if he don't, then maybe you can make a new friend, or tell someone to BITE YA again, that's always fun for me!!!?!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONENancy

We need help naming our reindeer pet! What would be a good name for the little fellow? We would love to have your suggestions--please post them here!
