Thank you all for all the support through this...  How I really wish that none of this had happened at all. The whole idea that I was betrayed by a friend really does sicken me... and that they tried to blame other's that were innocent is beyond me. The truth is that they were very bitter and hate filled people. They hurt so many... and stole something that never belonged to them in the first place... trust. Emails were basic conversations... my life was a mess at the time and they took advantage. As my friend they knew that and took advantage. Then after the emails stopped, I had pm's sent to me that ripped apart my writing and tore down my character. I had to ask the mod's and Amin for help... which I am thankful that they gave me. I am stepping forward for a second time, in order to clear my name and reputation. This slander against my reputation has to be put to rest. None of that rumor was true. None of their lies were true! I am just me... not some woman of ill repute. Star, Stephanie or Steph... whichever way you have come to know me... I am just me. Simple, honest, genuine, compassionate, and true... I am always me. Furthermore, I am pretty sure that there is a whole lot more that person went about telling behind my back. I am sure that more lies and rumors were spread without my knowledge as well. For anyone that heard them... well, I hope that you would know me better than that. I hope that you would know that I would never be part of anything like that. In life I may have never made all the right choices, but I was raised better than to get into trouble. I was raised to respect other's and to respect myself. I was raised to just be who I am... imperfections and all. |

I can only second what everyone else has said. Our family here is strong and everyone knows that you are such a genuine, good natured, kind person and I'm so lucky that you share your writing with us. Keep on listening to Marty's new music and try to dig the positive vibe and look forward to 2009!

I agree that the person(s) who orchestrated this are mentally ill. Steph, you are such a genuine, good-hearted person (and a great roomie!!!) I would never have believed anything they said. Chin up -- its over -- they are gone and you are here where you should be with all of us who really care about you.

I have no idea why...but then again I do have a knack for remembering the most obscure details. For the heck of it I googled "Marty Casey Stephanie Tafoya." Perhaps others did that as well. Anyway, that name is mentioned in a blog of Marty's from Oct. 2007 titled "Friday." He thanked her for scarves. Perhaps the impersonator thought she was you, Star, or just used that name cuz she knew your first name is Stephanie. Don't know...just thought I'd mention it in case it helped you make ANY sense of what happened.  |

For those that don't know... 1st marriage I was abused and beaten, so I left in order to save my son and myself when he was 3 months old (I was only married a little over a year). I pretty much ran into the 2nd marriage, but we were best friends and that seemed like the right thing for us at the time. In the end of two years, we walked away from each other... not in hate, but because we both knew that a marriage couldn't be based only on friendship and not love. Sadly, the impersonator was supposed to be a friend of mine... and they knew exactly what they were doing when they did it. They started this rumor to hurt me. Wow Star, I am really sorry you had to go through all this. To be betrayed by a friend really hurts. I am sure this person is not capable of "being a friend". Sounds to me that they are a very selfish person that needs to tear others down to feel good about themselves. I don't really know you, but from what you have posted, it sounds like you are a very strong woman with alot of integrity. Glad your nightmare is over. Hugs

im so sorry that someone could start such mean and cruel rumors about a person as nice and kind hearted as you. Your such an amazing mom, women, and friend that if i would ever to hear something like that being said about you there is no way on earth i could ever believe it.
We all have come to trust each other alot, and for someone who is supposed to be a friend hurt some of the best people here is remarkable. They obviously dont have anything better to do in their time then to try and break the trust and friendship that we all have with Marty.
You are a strong woman for coming out and putting the rumor to rest for one and for all. Stay strong and know that we all love and care for you. and you will always be huge part of my family here on the boards!
