FYI for future note.....if you use a handkerchief over the signature and heat set the ink with an iron, that should help it to last longer. Also, wash the shirts inside out from now on. I know how you feel...I'm sure you've tried to wash marker out before, only to have it stain...now you want it to stay and you wash it out. Very cute pic.....we were hoping to make it to that show....my girls 2 & 4 adore Marty but haven't met him yet.

With the help of a friend, I was able to make this event. Thank you for that, Liz! Even though it was a short show, I say a short show is better than none! It had been a year since seeing a Marty solo, and I was so ready to hear his voice again. [/IMG] There isn't much more to say about the show that hasn't already been shared, other than the weather Gods were watching out for me. The show was originally scheduled outdoors in the village greens, in 40 degree weather...brrrr, but thanks to the rain, this show was moved inside the Starbucks. It was small and crowded, but most definitely warmer and more intimate. There was a good mixture of songs from Rockstar, LH and Marty solos. I loved getting to hear “Honest I'll Wait” after reading so many wonderful reviews of the song; it didn't disappoint. The song is full of emotion and hits ya right in the gut! And “Skinny White Guitar Player” (even the PG-13 version) was great; such a fun song, I could listen to that one again and again. It was also great to hear “Merry Christmas All Year Long”, it was very appropriate, sounded great and just what ya need to help getting you into the Christmas spirit. All in all the show was great, and I was just thankful to be there. It seemed that almost all that watched the show, made their way down to the Kohler's store for the meet and greet, where Marty as always took his time to meet each fan, chat, and take pics. Everyone was in great spirits, lots of smiles and laughing going on. Marty made such a stir around there that when I was getting my pic taken with Santa, he was asking me who this Marty was, what kind of music he plays etc...I've never street teamed Santa before, but I guess a new fan is a new fan, lol! I finally got a chance to see the Silver Elements collection for myself, and I can say the items are beautiful and so well made. My wish list includes the Star ring, I just love it! Nancy and Duane, a special thank you for everything this weekend! It was great spending time with you guys, and hope to be able to do it again some time. [/IMG] Look what I found... Lynn, it was great to see you again, and have some laughs. Thank you for snapping a pic of me and Marty, I haven't had a real good one since Summerfest 07, so fingers are crossed that I don't look completely dorky in this one. Judy, it was great meeting you and thanks sending me the pic of us gals and Marty. Swillis, it was so fun to watch your boys having a great time. You could see the glow on their faces. I think it was even on their dads face too, but shhhh we won't tell anyone, lol! Marty has such an amazing way with his young fans, I'm glad they were able to experience that, and get great pic of them with Marty too. So sorry the sig washed away... another show will be in order! [/IMG] I am back home now safe and sound, and glad to report I have traded in my 4 layers of clothes for my shorts and flip flops, and feel so much less like the Stay puff marshmallow man now.

Janet, at the Cookie Monster!!! Seems somehow appropriate! It was great to see you all! Despite the last-minute move to indoors because of the rain, everything went well and sounded great. Marty even got to play more songs than he said he would have played outside, so thank goodness for the rain. The Starbucks was packed with people, and some even watched through the windows. Thanks, Starbucks, for helping out like that! That shopping center had some very cool stores. I'd like to go there again when I have more time.

Everyone's pretty much said everything. I was so happy when they moved the show to Starbucks. The rain and wind would have made for a very uncomfortable show for everyone. Starbucks was packed with Marty fans. I'm sure the regular patrons were wondering what the fuss was about, until they heard him sing. I hope there were a lot of new fans made that night. Marla had set up a great display at Kohler's. Marla also had the local newspaper displayed with the article on Marty. Here you can see the corner they put Marty in. The front door was to the right, and people actually were watching from outside - I think they could actually hear out there, too. I love the picture posted of Marty and his "elves". That should go into the gift for Marty thread.

swillis, your boys look so cute. oh wait, i bet they don't like to be called cute. you can tell them judy says they look rad with their guitar hero t's. there will definitely be more opps for signatures. in fact at morton arboretum, marty re-signed a faded signature for a fan. so i'm sure you're not the only mom who had a laundry incident... i'm sorry i didn't meet you. i'll try next time to focus a little more.
hy, thanks for the great closeups of marty @ starbux. i ended up on the other side and didn't have a good camera angle.
jupiter jane, both of the rings look great in person. however, i still can't get into wearing rings. if i ever get married, i might have to get one tattooed to my finger. what you can't tell from the photos is that the bamboo scarf and armwarmers are really soft. i wear them all of the time now.
thanks for the nice reviews everyone! ciao for now.

Thanks for all the tips ladies on the signature mishap....I will be sure to remember all of the advice the next time around. I almost had my husband try to re-trace over the very faded letters but decided to hold on until we see Marty again...hopefully sooner rather than later! Marty fans rock-you guys are all the best!
