Well then it would be a lot simpler if Marty simply did not perform the new stuff in public. End of story. Perhaps simpler, but again - it is his career, his art, his choice. And I for one respect his wishes and am pleased he chooses to share new songs at shows. On a lighter note - I also took some pics at Burr Ridge but my laptop crashed with the camera sw, so it will be a couple of weeks before I can share. Promise to post as soon as I can. Liz |

 Remember the whole "Don't pose with Marty for pictures" thing? Judging by the latest postings, even those who were wagging their fingers in admonishment got over that  I'm guessing in a month or so, this latest "concern" will dissapear as well  I think it's wisest not to interfere and let Marty do what Marty wants to do, and let the fans do what they want.

I am very thankful to the person that posted the video clips and the person that shared the link here on the board. I have spent 4 years reading about all these 'new' songs that Marty has written and shared with his concert goers. As you can imagine it has been frustrating being told all about these great songs that I have never been able to here for myself. Isn't it interesting that the fans that are so passionate about keeping the new songs from being heard are the very fans that have been to all the concerts and then gushed about hearing these songs in person time and again. Just saying........ I know what everyone has said about Marty not wanting the songs recorded and I fully agree with respecting that. He has worked hard on these songs and it is his decision to release as he sees fit without a doubt. I do get the impression that the person who posted the footage didn't know. Secondly, since it has been posted, perhaps sharing in the excitement of those who are finally hearing new material for the first time would be kinda fun. We have certainly shared in your excitement and cheered you on for the last four years. We are all disappointed that Marty and the LH haven't received the recognition that we would like them to have. Seriously, how long are we going to keep raining on each others parade over every little thing? Reminders are great! So is sharing in the little victories of other people. I just heard a new Marty song and can actually understand what everyone is talking about when they make reference to it now  Thank you to the person that was willing to share and to the person that passed on the link. It is nice to be 'in' the loop. Just saying...... Cheers |

even though i go to shows, which i have only been to 3, i STILL HAVENT HEARD ALL THE NEW SONGS!!!! there are plenty that i want to hear but havent because for 1 they arent released yet, and for 2 marty didnt play the ones i havent heard at the 2 accoustic shows i have been too.
while i am glad you all have gotten to hear this song, i wish i could have been on MARTYS terms. We seem to all be forgetting that he is the man that worked so hard on these songs for us, and enjoys being able to share something so new to us at his shows. He mentioned that he likes the new songs to be between him and the people there to enjoy at the time. while its not always fair, its life. He is the one who writes and records the music. Its his life, music, and art. I'm sorry but i would be PO'd if someone did this to me after time and time again of asking the new songs not to be recorded and posted on the internet. Yes, the person might not have known. When she gets my message i hope she removes the video.
AND JUST FOR EVERYONE'S INFO, SHE HASNT BEEN ON YOUTUBE FOR A FEW DAYS....
this has gone far enough so please drop it.

I don't know any Marty fans who are passionate about preventing his new material from being heard. They want to hear it as much as anyone - but mostly, they are trying to respect Marty's wishes in this matter.
Could be that the "gushing" might suggest to some people to actually go to some shows if and when they can?

Guys, we have NO control or authority as to what gets put on YouTube. This matter is really between Marty, the person who put the video up and YouTube. Let's not make enemies amongst ourselves because of it. Can we move on to something positive now......please? |
