Wow! what a night. where do i start? I really needed this show last nigth and it was amazing! Martys voice was sounding better then ever. Of course me and rachel got to the venue at about 4ish and then waited around a little while then went and got something to eat. when we got back the doors were open to shakers so me and rachel went upstairs to meet jodi and yak. we 4 were really the only ones there until about 8:30ish. i got ALOT of studying done during the first opening band. i need a distraction when i study or my head becomes my distraction. So about half way through the frist bands set, The sixth degree. they were good. nothing bad but not the best. idk how long they have been a band but they dont have a very good stage presence in my opinion but the music was good. Then the next band came on, Oney! they were really good! Chuck, the lead singer, was super awesome. they are from columbus and im sure we will be seeing them again. But lets get to the good stuff, MARTY! lets see if i can remember the set list (not in order well maybe some are idk): Sleeper Mr.Brightside Honest i'll wait Lithium Never tear us apart Cant always get what you want Hit me baby one more time I alone Hold on Wish you were here BLack majesty trees Hopes and fears collide (i requested this song and he played it!) Velvet He played a few more new songs i think i just dont know the names of them. I was super excited when he played Hopes and fears collide. that song is amazing. and it holds a special place in my heart right now... maybe some of my hopes and fears are colliding right now and thats why it just has something special for me right now in my life. He was in a great mood, joking, talking with the crowd and stuff. His voice was amazing. all the summer touring really did him justice. it got his voice sounding the best i have ever heard it! Me and rachel got to hang out with him for probably like an hour or so? idk maybe it just feels like it was a long time lol. im not for sure ha ha. i just know we had some amazing comversations... and some crazy photo opps lol.... when we first got to say hi to him, me and rachel were just waiting at the bar to get a red bull cause we both had a long drive back. and then i just felt this hand on my shoulder and i knew immediately who it was and got a big big hug! we were talking and stuff and this REALLY drunk guy decided he wanted to but in and try and interupt our convo and you could tell marty was getting a little upset. but i was just dying laughing cause he was sooooooo drunk lol... then marty went and talked with some other people and just talked to everyone for a while. then he came back over to me and rachel and we all started talking and stuff and just having fun! Marty started playing with my hair, he said the dark hair looked very "natural" and i was like thats because i normally had dark hair, i dont think he believed me for a few seconds lol. i was like i just dyed it blonde cause i felt in the moment with it. and then him and rachel gave me "rockstar hair" and marty took my glasses and put them on and was posing with them telling me how i should wear my hair with them and that i wear my hair back and he wants me to wear it more towards my face ha ha... dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. but it was so funny watching him do it... i think rachel has all the pics covered lol! so im not going to repost them... just know that the ones with marty and the glasses... those are my glasses and he was modeling them ha ha. and then that hat one is to funny! but i really do love the one of me and marty smiling!

Another excellent show!!!! I'm so glad we decided to continue east in our travels and see this show. I got to hear "My Kind of Wine" for the first time, and Black Majesty again, as well as "Honest I'll Wait", which Marty did every bit as movingly as he did the previous night. Once again, I got tears in my eyes during that one. He busted someone for taking video of it, though. He said he doesn't want the new songs introduced to the world like that, and that makes a lot of sense. He had Chuck, the singer from Oney, come up and sing a few songs with him, and Duane (hammeredham) has his own stories to tell from the last 2 nights! I have set lists to post later, and LOTS of photos--I have a huge backlog of photos right now! I guess I need to stop going to shows for a while to get caught up! Oney was quite good--they opened at both of these Ohio shows. I'd go see them again. They had 2 guitars and a bass--no drummer, and they did excellent harmonies. It was great to see some folks I haven't seen in a long time! Jodi, Yak (of course you 2 were also at Chillicothe), Klees, Cherry/Karen W., Karen M., Rachel and Christine, and I finally got to meet Ladyslipperlady. I think I'm leaving some people out--sorry! My brain is a little fried right now. I hope everyone who was driving back that night got back safely. Christine--funny photos!!! You girls looked like you were having a blast! But let's hope that Marty doesn't get fond of that style of glasses--they just aren't him. ;D Stephanie and Susie drove all the way from Missouri, saw the show, and then had to drive all the way back that same night! They said they wanted to be there because of my review of his Chillicothe show--that's really cool! I was afraid people would take that review the wrong way, but I was very emotionally moved when I wrote it, and meant "painful" as in--so beautiful that it actually hurt. I'm glad you understood what I meant. I hope you got home OK. We had to get up this morning and head back west, while Marty headed east for Pennsylvania. I was sad to not be going to that one, but very happy about having seen these 2 Ohio shows! I'm really thankful that the weather cooperated for us all. I hope those going to the PA show will have a great time! OK, I'm sure I'll think of more later when my brain can sort through the last few days.

i like my glasses on him ha ha... but its ok... not everyone likes them! but i totally know what you mean... honest i'll wait and black majesty were amazing! the first verse of black majesty i think its something like "25 and shes looking for the dad she never had" or something like that.. im not for sure. it was the first time i had ever heard the song... and well that part brought tears to my eyes.... it brought up alot of personal emotions when i heard that. and as soon as he said it like i felt like i was hit in the chest you know... it was just weird and painful and overwhelming almost for me.... but i wouldnt trade it.... just an amazing night and i cant wait to see your pics nancy!

Thanks for the reviews everyone. If I may ask a quick favor...Could someone please point out which of the new songs you are hearing at these shows are new Marty songs and which are new LAG songs I would sure appreciate it. I really wish, along with many others I am sure, that Marty would release a solo album so that we could all hear these new songs he is sharing at the solo shows. Patience patience I guess. I think we need a smilie that is lost in a day dream Cheers

I have also been the lucky recipient of some amazing cellcerts lately. And all i can say is wow!!!! And to everyone commenting on Marty's voice getting better, I agree whole heartedly. I was able to catch several shows this summer and fall and it was apparent then. ANd when he sounds great on a cellcert you know it is special I can't wait to see him live sing Honest I'll Wait. I could not catch all the words via the cellcert, but what i could hear is amazing and the song has so much emotion, power, and sounds terrific. And Black Majesty. We need thse on cd and we need them now!!!! Marty is so much in his element with these shows. He sounds great and looks like he is having the time of his life. Perfect job. Christine and Rachel - Thanks for the pics and reviews. It looks like you had a really great time. Nancy - So happy that you could go to the shows. We patiently wait the pics.

For those of you lucky enough to attend the last few acoustic shows, does anyone know if 'Honest I'll Wait' is a new Marty song, LH song, of LA Guns? I keep reading posts about how beautiful it is and I am DYING to hear it. Right now, my favorite is 'Sleeper'--I just cannot get enough of that song. Looking forward to reading more posts. I hope to cross paths at a future acoustic show if I can manage to get to one! Cheers, Shelley
