Cultural influences on your music

When you perform internationally, do you listen to/purchase local music, with the idea of absorbing the location’s musical culture and incorporating it into your future songs?

I buy local music and keep my ear to the ground in hopes of finding great new artists or get to understand more cultural stuff (samba) that is historical in another country. I do it more in an effort for a cultural experience than to incorporate it into my music. But, You neva neva know!
