Back in Los Angeles again, LA Guns played a show at the orginal House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard that was fast, loose, sexy. See the slideshow here! rockbandlounge.com/news/2009-04-la-guns/ And the technical stuff.... If you're on a laptop, go find a BIGGER screen, and if you have a slow Internet connection, be prepared to wait, because this show is HUGE. But it's worth it! And please, maximize your browser window - it's possible to view it in a smaller window, but these images deserve to be seen full-size.

Thanks to HOB for that! One of the many reasons I love that place... Why can't all clubs have that kind of lighting ? Your pics are fabulous .....as usual.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. It's a little different than my usual work, so I'm glad to see that the response to it artistically, is positive! [/IMG]
Everything is great! And I hope the same for you!

[/IMG] photos of the day. ;D
I love those two as well. I love #12 for the same reason I love #1 - because THAT'S what it feels like to be in the front row at a show. Lot's of images are pretty, or tell a story, but when an image makes you feel - that's powerful - and those two just take me back instantly to what it's like being in the front row at an incredible show, and being completely taken over and blown away by it. And I love #20 too - but was unsure if anyone else would, because it's totally fine art in nature - and not one bit commercial. I was actually a little hesitant to post it, because it's so non-commercial - I thought people might not get it, and wonder why it made the final cut. But I loved it so much, I included it anyway! Honestly, this series is the most fine art-based project I've ever done with a band - I usually skew a lot more commercial with live concerts, since my whole point is to show everyone how cool a band is, and how phenomenal the show was - it's not to showcase myself as an edgy artist - even it that's what I am, at my core. But at this particular show, my fine art instincts just took over - I think I may have been just a little too much into the music! Sometimes that's the way it goes... So I'm really glad to hear such positive comments - it makes my night!

I am great Cheryl, thanks! My personal favorites would be #5 (for the same reason you love #1), #20, #22, and #30, which I think is STUNNING!!!! They are all wonderful!

Cheryl, I also thought #20 was cool. It has a similar effect to this one, that I shot at HOB in Chicago. I think you did a great job on snagging those magic lighting moments that they provide. I wish all clubs did lighting as well as the HOBs.

The pics are phenomenal - and they DO show the band as very cool. And #20, where he's just looking at you with that "look" - [/IMG] Oh, and I love the pic of Al in #10 - between the other guys. That is a really cool shot of him! And #20 - all I can say is - when he knows where the camera is and who is behind the camera -

Hey HY! Just so you know, he may be looking toward the camera in #20, but he's not looking directly at it - his eyes were actually focussed just to the left of it. I was using a fairly long lens at that point, and was on the opposite side of the stage, so he wasn't even aware of the camera in that moment, which is part of why I like it. It's totally unguarded.
In fact, the one blueeyz mentioned as her favorite, is the one frame where he is looking directly at the camera, and it was shot less than a minute after #20. It's the kind of in-between moment that usually I don't post, but this series of images is just so all over the place, it just seemed to fit.
And HY, thanks for the edgy artist cool comment. If I hit that, then I'm happy!
