The first NYE Bash two years ago was the first time I'd been out for NYE since my son was born in 1994. It is an amazingly great way to spend NYE.
If I remember correctly, there is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel where the venue is. The best deal is to book a room with tix package and then bring in a couple extra peeps to split the cost of the room.

OK....so i've missed many solo performances, but we are IN for NYE!!!! I convinced my hubby, secured overnight FREE childcare and my parents are giving us $300 towards our trip as our Christmas gift. So....this will be our 1st time to the big NYE bash. How many of you are going? We are planning to stay at the hotel and probably get dinner there at 6pm. Trying to decide if we should go for the VIP tix and pay the extra $ or just stick with the standard ROCKIT tix. Any advice? Who all is going? I'm so excited and I just can't hide it....LOL ;-)

hey jupiter jane, congrats on the great gift from the parents! as far as i can tell from this thread, here are the attendees: you + hubby, willev7, JS, IWOmusic, chifan, ndavis021410, (perhaps RJ?) and me i went ahead and booked the VIP ticket, but we'll see if there is any real benefit... there's always the risk of hype. maybe save some moolah to use towards silver elements gear instead? cheers!

There's no way that Larry and I will drink $60 each worth of liquor over the course of the night. And I'm not that interested in the little hats and noise makers they hand out. Unless they have a much bigger VIP area this time, I'm not sure it's worth it. I think someone over at lovehammersforum.com said they had VIP last year - but I don't remember exactly what they said about it. You might check there for more info. Judy - it will be great to finally meet you. I'm sorry I missed you at the Arboretum.

We'll be driving up from Ohio. Hopefully there won't be too much snow. This will be my first winter driving in my little Elantra. It's great at the pump but wondering if I will miss my big 4 wheel drive this winter. It's going to be a blast to meet you all!! Judy, your avi looks great....at least yours doesn't have the white balance messed up so that you are missing your nose. willev and cgs so sad that you can't go. My 19 year old son will be home watching the house and dogs with us out of town and I suspect he will be having a big party....ugh.....so there you go....come on down and bust his party! Or you could always get a couple fake I.D. and hitch a ride with us!

I'm also doing everything in my power to attend this if at all possible.
Edited to say: I'm not sure if it's going to be possible after all, but I really want to be there. If I'm not, know I'm there with you all in spirit.

We cannot make it to the bash, so to all of you lucky enough to go, have a BLAST! Hopefully there are more of these to come. To Jupiter Jane, how did you convince your hubby? My consolation is that we are taking the family to the Holiday Stroll in Burr Ridge, IL to see Marty. My boys are excited to meet him--they hope to have him sign their Guitar Hero t's! Please post lots of pics and updates following the show--those of us that can't make it will be there in spirit..... Cheers!

Oh, swillis, that'd be cool of Marty to sign your boys t's!
I am also among the ones who won't be at any of these appearances, so I'm counting on y'all going to keep up my Marty fix!! Have fun and stay safe!

I have enjoyed the "all ages" shows as much or more as the over 21 shows, and 2. I agree Judy, the NYE show 2 years ago had people SO drunk, they were laying on the floor in the hallways, passed out, puking--how FUN !! I'm sure many of those folks didn't even remember the show. One of the things I have to say for Marty and the rest of the LH is that if it is an all ages show, you can take your 6-year-old. Everyone will have a great time, they will involve everyone, the music will be great, and you'll never have to cover your kids' ears to protect them from "adult" language.

Ta-daa! Sheeechh! What's a girl got to do to get a little .org time? Tonight I decided to just stop the world and get off so, here I am. I am soooo happy to say I will be spending NYE in Chicago again! I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world. Adrienne, Judy, and Micki I sure hope I get the chance to meet you. So many people I can not wait to see again.
