Carrying this over from Nancy D on the LH message board: Here's the set list, from my CELL CERT that I cried most of the way through. The sound was ok, but it was the LOVEHAMMERS, and that MAGIC seeped through the phone lines and made me cry, be happy, and dance all at once.....
First song:
Eyes Can't See New One that I have no idea what it was, hopefully someone will fill this one in??? The TUNNEL Hold On Clinic - Time I got up to start to dance (Holding belly together 2) OVER AND OUT - I fainted Ultrasound - I could FEEL Bobby SAAA - I could FEEL Dino jumping around and running everywhere SLEEPER - Marty voice shined here, even through a CELL CERT, this was an amazing experience. CALL OF DISTRESS Honest I'll Wait - Faints again...Truly a beautiful song, so many touches of the HAMMERS ROCK, just beautiful The Riddle LET'S GET WASTED - Dancing again, and nope, belly hadn't fallen out yet tricky tricky put in there, MOST AWESOME timing CLOUDS - I lost it. Cried like a baby on the first cord. THANKS DINO FOR PLAYING THAT....That made my year.... This Town - FULL ENERGY GUNS - fainted Trees - thought it was over TEENAGE WASTE LAND then is stuck in my head for the next 12 months LOL
That's my cell cert review
HAPPY NEW YEAR YA ALL
LOVE YA NANCY aabheart.gif aabheart.gif aabheart.gif

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone! Thank you JJ for bringing Nancy's review over. I got a cellcert from Rachel (kbgirl) of "The Riddle", it recorded on my cell so I can listen to it over and over and over again. It sounded great and I, like Nancy, cried and danced too, when I heard it last night after I rang in the New Year. Thank you, THANK YOU Rach! Looking forward to all the pics and hopefully vids too.

Happy New Year everyone! Can't wait to see more reviews/pics. I wish I would have asked someone for a cellcert so I could have enjoyed at least a small snippet of the evening. I am sure it was a blast....I am hoping for a 2009 NYE show!!

it's official. i've been hammered! yes this was my first lovehammers concert (not including trees performed acoustically at shedd aquarium). what a great night!!! i loved how everyone sang the lyrics to practically every song. i am not good in crowds and i must say that hammerheads are the nicest and most courteous audience members i've ever encountered. every song was just amazing. marty, bob, dino and billy really strut their stuff. ironically, billy said they thought that this wasn't one of their better performances. could have fooled me! marty jumped all over the stage and mingled in the crowd, dino rocked out the guitar, billy too and was great to hear their voices live in addition to marty's, bob made me tired just watching him bang out the drums. these boys bring it! thank you to jj (i'm glad you were able to experience via cellcert) and nancy d for the set list. i remember most of the songs, but some i didn't recognize (being a newbie). i am sooo happy that they played 'honest i'll wait.' they perform this song so beautifully i can hardly stand it. of course, i still love 'clouds', 'hold on', and 'trees' everytime i hear them, but i'm craving more. can't wait for the release of 'let me out'! it was great to meet everyone! i was amazed at how many hammerheads traveled to see lh - minnesota, california, indiana, and michigan among others. (i hope you all made it home safe and happy with good memories :0) so you all know how great lh are, and now i know firsthand too! here's hoping for lots of shows in 2009! happy new year everyone!!!

Thanks for the reviews and pics! Just a few comments for now: The second song of the night was "Maybe Tonight", which they also played at Hammerfest. The last song of the night was my favorite song by The Who, and the title is actually "Baba O'Riley", not "Teenage Wasteland". (Baba, for Meher Baba, Pete Townshend's spiritual inspiration, and the O'Riley part was in honor of Terry Riley, an early pioneer of synthesizer music. The Who album "Who's Next", which this song appeared on, was the first rock album to make extensive use of synthesizers.) It was good to see these four long-term friends making their music together again, and finding their way back to their friendship. The K brothers' cousin Bill joined them on stage as the second guitar player. Marty was quite intense and expressive. It is very clear that his solo work and touring with LA Guns made his voice even stronger and more expressive all through his range, so it's all good. Billy, Bobby, and Dino have not lost any of their skills in the interim, either, so it was a full-on Lovehammers show! They still hang out to meet the fans afterward, too. It looked like Marty had to call it a night earlier than the other guys because of his upcoming shows out west, but he still did get around to all the fans who wanted to meet him. (I thought that was really sweet.) It was truly wonderful to spend time with Hammerhead friends, seeing the show, and hanging out together before and after. I was afraid those times were gone forever--I'm glad we all found our way back to each other, too. The mood before the show was excited, and the mood on New Year's Day was happy, mellow, and content. All in all, it was a satisfying and healing experience. On New Year's Day, a pack of Hammerheads traveled downtown to look at the store windows, shop, and have some tasty dinner at Portillo's. That was a lot of fun! I was recovering from a nasty cold, so I wasn't 100%, but thankfully better than I had been a few days before. Thanks to the other Hammerheads for putting up with me, and I hope I didn't give anyone my cold. For those Hammerheads who are heading west tomorrow for the LA Guns shows--have a great time, and please post your reviews!
