Marty Casey and Lovehammers
December 29, 2006 - Have you discovered Marty Casey yet? Marty Casey is the lead singer for the Lovehammers, a Chicago-based modern rock band. Marty was runner-up on Rock Star: INXS, Mark Burnett's reality series searching for the new lead singer for the rock band INXS. While on Rock Star, Marty became a fan favorite and introduced his original tune "Trees" to much acclaim.
Cranberry Mojito (Adult)
Ingredients
Cranberry Juice Cocktail
Fresh Mint (5 cups)
Simple Syrup
½ lime
Mint lime foam
Directions
1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. add 4oz cranberry juice
2. 8 sprigs mint
3. 1 oz simple syrup
4. ½ lime (squeezed)
5. Shake well.
6. Shake till mint in well fragmented
7. Pour in large glass.
8. Top with lime foam
9. Fresh mint leaf garnish This rocker has become a force that his Chicago fans recognized long ago. Janet Davies and Mark Giangreco ring in the New Year as co-hosts of ABC 7's Countdown Chicago
If you can't be there--join them! ABC 7 co-hosts Janet Davies and Mark Giangreco along with Lou Canellis, Michelle Alegria, Doug Banks and Bill Campbell take viewers on a celebratory tour of what's happening around Chicagoland as revelers ring in the New Year during COUNTDOWN CHICAGO, a live special airing Sunday, December 31 from 11:08 PM-12:15 AM on ABC 7.
It's the biggest party night of the year and ABC 7 viewers once again will have front row seats to all the fun, entertainment and hoopla that are part of this city's New Year's Eve tradition. COUNTDOWN CHICAGO's Davies and Giangreco will join the party at the Sheraton Hotel, spotlighting some of the best music the night has to offer including rock headliner "Collective Soul," along with "Marty Casey's Lovehammers," and "Too White Crew." Also at the Sheraton, ABC 7's Bill Campbell will be checking out the scene, talking to partygoers about their New Year's resolutions and big plans for 2007.
In addition, "190 North's" Doug Banks will help music fans get in the groove at the Green Dolphin Street, where "Lynne Jordan and the Shivers" will keep the place tingling with their soulful rhythm and blues.
Michelle Alegria will save a seat at one of Chicago's favorite live music venues, Fitzgerald's, where Sonny Landreth will clarify why he's the master of the slide guitar.
Lou Cannellis' pub crawl tour will showcase some of Chicago's hottest clubs including "Sound Bar," "Y Bar" and "Coyote Ugly."
And of course, seconds before midnight, Davies and Giangreco will count down to 2007, capping off the excitement with a spectacular view of Chicago's official fireworks display made possible by ABC 7's Chopper 7 HD.
ABC 7's New Year's Eve specials have evolved into a Chicago tradition. The show continues to be a favorite among viewers, and last year, garnered a 43 share at midnight.
