So, exactly how do you pronounce Potawatomi (using syllables)? The power of Google and my need for more information to add into my mental file for future reference... I just love to learn new things You would pronounce the name as "Poh-tuh-WAH-toh-mee." There is more than one way to spell the name itself. The translation of Potawatomi means "keepers of the fire" which refers the the alliance they had with other tribes.

Great pics. Wish I could have been there. I really feel like I'm missing out since the Chicago weekend. Wish I lived closer.

I am just now getting around to posting info about the Summerfest show, my second LH show, and absolutely just as good as the first. I am glad to see the pictures-I took a few but in my excitement forgot to change camera settings and they are nothing but a blur..... My husband and I loaded our three little guys up and headed down on the 4th for an evening of Summerfest fun. We live about 20 minutes north of the grounds so we thought, what a fantastic way to spend the 4th, and all of us love Marty/LH music. The set list as I remember it is as follows: Guns Clinic Call of Distress Eye's Can't See Baba O'Riley Low Life Insurance (with Tricky) Straight as an Arrow Trees This Town I think I may have missed one or two in there. We were about 7 rows back and ended up standing on the bleachers with the boys on our shoulders (the wonderful people behind us didn't mind a bit). It was a really fun show to watch. As mentioned in the previous posts, Marty got a kick out of Potowatomi-he said it was about as fun to say as tippy-toes! Marty was in good spirits-poked fun at the fact that his microphone cord was too short and kept him tethered so he couldn't climb the scaffolding on stage to hang upside down and sing. He also gave a shout-out to his sister for writing the lyrics to 'Clinic'-I thought it was interesting to learn the backstory behind the song. Marty also grabbed some drumsticks and played along with Bobby during one of the songs-that was definitely a crowd pleaser! The whole band really seemed to enjoy themselves and there was a lot of energy in the crowd. The only downside to the evening for us was when Bobby threw out his drumsticks-one came right at us and my 7-year-old drummer hopeful tried to catch it, fell off the bleacher, and ended up with a leg injury....and no drumstick. Ice cream after the show seemed to heal the heart at least! All in all, it was really fun. It was neat to see all the guys up there on stage with their arms around each other at the end-it was really great to be a part of their family, even if only for a short time that evening. We were glad they played at 6:30 so we all could go-Summerfest after dark is definitely not the place to be with young kids. I can't wait to see what's in store for them and hope to continue to be a part of it with all of you.....

Chifan, thanks for you pics! I had a few that illustrate what swillis was talking about. Marty playing drums during Baba O'Riley When Marty finally got his longer mic cord - it didn't work at first. So he went and sang in Dino's mic, and Dino went and picked up the non-working mic and started pretending to sing Trees. They finally got the mic working, and Marty went out into the crowd.

Wow, Thank you for the pics Chifan & HY! They're great and looks like a fun time had by all! Swillis, thank you for the review and details of the show. Sorry your son didn't get a drumstick and was hurt. Sounds like he's a tough liitle guy. Next time...... I just LOVE, LOVEHAMMERS! Can't wait for my "Heavy Crowns" to ship! 8 days!!!

Awesome review Swillis. I'd love to take my kids to a LH show. They know all the words and LOVE Guns!! So fun. I love that the Lovehammers actually put music out there that young kids CAN listen to without learning less than desirable lyrics. If you get the chance, you MUST get your kids to a show. My boys love 'Guns' too, particularly the beginning......
