Music
LOVEHAMMERS' CD RELEASE PARTY: It's been a busy time for the Lovehammers, whose members originally got together when they were kids in Hickory Hills. Vocalist Marty Casey, who considers Chicago's Beverly community like a second home, now lives in Chicago; lead guitarist Billy Sawilchik now lives in Orland Park; bassist Dino Kourelis now lives in Chicago near U.S. Cellular Field; and drummer Bobby Kourelis now lives in Chicago's Gold Coast district. The longtime friends will celebrate the release of their "Heavy Crown" CD from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday (7/21) at the RockHouse (formerly Deja Vu), 2624 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. Information: (773) 871-0205, www.RockhouseChicago.com. If you missed my earlier blog topic with information about the disc, check out "Music: A conversation with Lovehammers' Marty Casey." Now, here is more from the Ala Carte Entertainment event announcement:
Marty Casey and Lovehammers are releasing their new CD "Heavy Crown" this Tuesday (7/21) at Chicago's newest "Rock Spot," the RockHouse in Lincoln Park. Get ready to delve out to some serious rock, and rock without skimping on the sex and debauchery with band members Marty, Billy, Dino and Bob starting at 7 p.m. After watching them perform, Nikki Sixx, of Motley Crue said, "This is a band to watch for." Lovehammers have been longtime favorites on the Chicago rock scene and recently attributed a lot of their success due to lead singer Marty Casey's stint on the hit CBS television show "Rock Star: INXS."
Listen to Lovehammers' new CD, take pictures, get autographs and hang with the guys and maybe even catch an acoustic set by the guys that remind us that it's all about the rock 'n' roll! Enjoy $3 Bacardi Dragon Berry bombs, $3 Jim Beams, $2.50 Shock Top drafts and $4 Crystal Head Vodka drinks and hang out 'til 4 a.m. with DJ Punk Rock Josh spinning your favorite rock jams all night. Adults must be 21 to attend this event.
