Lovehammers Official CD Release Party for "Heavy Crown" 7 pm on July 21st. The band will be there hanging out, signing stuff, taking pictures, playing the record, and there will be an open jam for anyone/everyone that wants to play a few songs.There is also a tattoo contest as well as an artist ready to ink. Whew! Just got home from 2 days of Lovehammers and Marty shows! The guys socialized with everyone for awhile, then they had the bar play the new CD over the sound system. We all had some laughs while watching the looping videos on the TV screens, and noticing that the strippers (and whatever!) on the videos were dancing in time to the songs on the CD. (About those videos—YIKES! My eyes, my eyes, my eyes……didn’t really want to see some of that stuff…..ewwwww! I’m sure most males in the place enjoyed it, but I was wishing for some rock videos instead.) After that, the band got onto the small stage to play an acoustic set. There was some funny banter between songs, and a little busting on each other. They started playing the first song while Marty was still out talking to people in the bar, and they said over the microphone, “Is Marty Casey in the house?” There wasn’t room for a drum set, so Bobby just hung out in the crowd and watched until they sang the song he wrote, “Find Your Way”. Then he joined them to sing background! If I remember correctly, they opened the set with “Your Time, My Time”, and also played “Black Angel” from the new CD. The other guys cleared the stage while Billy joined Marty for “Skinny White Guitar Player”. Then the other guys came back to finish the set. Dino lay down on his back on one of the sofas on the stage, and played a song that way—LOL!!! I didn’t take notes on which songs they played, so I’m not even going to try to list them all. They played for around 45 minutes to an hour, I think. I did take photos! I’ll post a few.        |
