Just wanted to say hello....Been a huge fan since I saw Marty on Rock Star INXS & finally on July 24th saw the Lovehammers live for the first time at The Gramercy in NYC. I haven't been so excited about a band in ages & was truly blown away. I can't say enough about how amazing Marty's vocals were & how tight they all played.
Extra bonus was meeting & having the chance to speak with Marty prior to the show. My friend & I came to the city a tad early & happen to see Marty & the guys when we were crossing the street. So I went up to Marty, introduced myself & told him how much I enjoy his music & how much I was looking forward to finally seeing them perform live.
I also had a chance to joke about being friends with him on Face Book along with a million other people, how I admire their self promotion & how great I think it is that he does some shows that benefit cancer organization, especially since I, myself just celebrated being 5 years cancer free. He was so sweet asking me if I was ok now & I was like yeah, I'm here seeing you!! Anyway I can't say enough about how cool he was & the hug was well you know... [img src="![]() martycasey.org/emoticons/squee.gif"][/IMG] We ended up front & center & well the night couldn't have been any better. So I am now a Lovehammer [img src=" ![]() martycasey.org/emoticons/cheer.gif"][/IMG] And I must confess I am getting teased over on my other bands website Cheap Trick.Com, that I am cheating on Robin Zander with a younger, blonde. I even e-mailed their tour manager, Carla (know her for years) & sent her the photo of me & Marty & told her to break it to Robin easy. LOL I'm sure he got a kick out of that! LOL All I can say is after 30 something years of following them around the world, for me to have interest & get excited about another band, really is something big! Well to me anyway. So my other passion is Cheap Trick, I'm closing in on my 100th show & travel all over to see them. I know the band for years & once in a while they let me shoot for them, which is always cool. I also love Blondie, Billy Idol, Weezer, The Donnas, to name a few. I love music as much as I do traveling & my two little girls, my Pomeranian Misty May aka May May & my French Bulldog Cinder Bella aka Belly. SO that's my story & I'm sticking to it. I joined the Lovehammers board last week as LovehammersLover & after I gave myself that screen name I was like arghhhh, so over here I am Neverfall (one of my favorite songs). Welcome aboard! Glad you are doing well with your health. Congratulations on your first LH show, it sounds like the wait was well worth it.

 NeverFall !!! Good board name there!  It's nice to have you here. I know what you mean about being a long-time fan of another band, and being so excited to discover Marty and Lovehammers. I'm a long-time Who fan--"BBE" stands for "Behind Blue Eyes", which of course is one of their best-known songs, and I do have blue eyes, so it seemed fitting.  Congratulations on being 5 years cancer-free!  I lost my sister to breast cancer almost 3 years ago, and the song "Heavy Crown" could have been written about her battle. I still can't listen to it without tears. It is so authentic to the experience--it cuts right to the heart of it. (Marty wrote it about his aunt Margaret). Congrats also on seeing your first LH show, and meeting Marty! Fans of the band call themselves Hammerheads, so you are now a Hammerhead!  See you around the boards, and maybe at a show sometime! Yes, I'm a breast cancer survivor & this July my new boobs turned 5! LOL So sorry about your sister, Nancy *hugs*
I believe I wrote on the Lovehammer board that Heavy Crown reminds me of my friend Kevin who passed away from cancer a year ago. We were diagnosed at the same time, so it hits me very hard that he's gone & I'm still here. Hearing those lyrics I knew someone close must have passed. It's a beautiful song.
And getting back to some funnier crap.. I swear my CT friends on FB are really ripping me to shreds & having a grand time busting one me...So I keep adding Marty comments & photos just to add fuel & to make them laugh.
I'm actually going to Vegas for a 3 out of 9 shows that they are putting on in Sept. & well I'm being teased that I deserted Robin & look who my profile photo is of, etc. It's pretty funny & all in fun, cause I'll always be Zandergal, but hey I can juggle!!!
Granted a lot of them are checking out the Lovehammers though cause I do have a post on their website about other bands dedicated to The Lovehammers & I'm spreading the love.
Hey I need help I saw a clip, avatar, banner don't know what you call it, but it was of Marty doing his conductor thing. It was just him doing that over & over. I can't remember where I saw it but it was the coolest thing ever & I love watching him do that. If anyone knows where to find it or actually created it I would love to have a copy of it, it's just so cool.
And thanks for letting a newbie gush.

We LOVE meeting new fans on the board. Thanks so much for stopping by and for posting such I nice long intro. I hope you come by more and post often.
So glad you got to go see the band on July 24. I have pictures from that show that I will be posting later tonight on Marty's website in the photo gallery section that maybe you might see yourself in a couple of the shots.

Neverfall! (I love that song too). I am so glad to hear you are healthy after a battle with cancer!  I go in for my first Mammo on Wednesday, it is diagnostic from a swelling that keeps occurring. I put it off for four months thinking it was probably something lingering from breast feeding but it is getting out of control and the doctor is concerned now. I didn't know there was a second type of cancer that does not have lumps and has swelling instead. I wish there was a way to get information out about stuff like that to women who, otherwise, do not think about it... like me! I am just not going to worry until I am told I have a reason... still a bit scary, though.  Welcome to the community of Marty fans! Sounds like you got the Marty bug, no cure for it  , may as well forget about that "other band" you follow  ... You don't cheat with Marty, you leave others for him and stay... LOL ~ That is what you tell the community over there that is making fun of you!!!

Only problem is I am just returning home the week before from Vegas & my 3 night stint with Cheap Trick & then the 1st week in Oct. going on my planned anniversary vacation with my hubby to Aruba....I haven't had a vacation all year & now possibly 3 within a week of each other.....What's a girl to do besides Charge it!!! If you are going let me know where you all plan on staying, etc.
PS~ My DVD of the Lovehammers just came today along with Murder on My Mind....I'm backtracking, or should I say really getting myself hammered!!! ;D |

Charge it girl and come to the show. I am going and it will be my first one, so I am hoping to meet some of you there!! More than likely staying in West Hollywood. My friend Christina, who went to the first LH show with me in NYC is going (see I told you we were hooked), along with her cousin. Should be fun time hanging in Hollywood!!!

Welcome NeverFall! Sounds like you are well on your way to getting some shows under your belt. They are worth absolutely every penny--just saw my first two shows this summer--don't have the chance to travel a ton as I have three little guys under the age of 11, but when they are local, my hubby and I are there! Enjoy the message board-it is so much fun, and everyone is so welcoming! |

Hey thanks a bunch...Ok we booked everything this weekend. Now we are staying in Hollywood, as we want to get as much crammed into our 3 nights as possible.
