One way I know how is to keep pestering those people at 96 Rock to play "Trees" and to vote MC&LH up on the playlist: www.96rockonline.com/playlist.aspand to request "Trees": www.96rockonline.com/customform.asp?id=2403Remember to keep it short and polite like Dino said! ;D And if you go to: www.96rockonline.com/listings14682.asp(And look under Artist Interviews you'll see Marty Casey. This is the interview with the DJ comment about "having some seriously rabid fans in North Carolina"! Hee hee hee!) And give this station some love people, other stations around here are giving me the "who, what, we'll see if we can get that on" junk. This station realizes they are getting a lot of internet attention and I think they'll respond. Help me get North Carolina really hooked on the Lovehammers! (If this post looks familiar, I modified it slightly and transferred it from another thread, but the need is still there!)

Please keep voting and requesting! Fans can't fall in love if they don't hear the music.
The station tells me that they are working on getting web streaming going. Keep checking!
I tell you, this station is VERY aware that they are getting attention from people via the internet and they are trying to be responsive.
BTW, if you send email, (under "Interact" and then "Contact Us") especially contact Jay Nachlis, Program Director, or Foster (the guy who did the "rabid fans" interview").
Thanks y'all!

Hey, all! J.J., who is filling in for Foster this afternoon, played "Trees!" I called and actually spoke to him. I thanked him for playing "Trees for me!" He said, "You like that song, huh?" I said, "Yes, I love the whole new CD by the Lovehammers and their back catalog is great, too! Thanks so much for playing them on your show." And he said, "So what you are saying is that Marty Casey is a sexy b****?!" Dropping my voice into that husky, sexy level, I said, "Oh yeah."
I have NEVER called a radio station for anything like this before.
Keep contacting this station, though. I'm hoping if they push MC&LH, other stations will have to start picking it up too!
Thanks all y'all!

In my Lovehammers email today there was this statement:
"The best thing for you guys to do if you want to hear it is to ask them to play it. A simple request is just fine, but please make sure you only request in your own home town."
I understand. Here's my little spin, though. I can let the station know I am outside of the immediate listening area but that there are LH fans in their area I want to help support, and that I have even listened to their station on-line (96 Rock tells me that is coming sooooon for them) as I do for several radio stations.
I don't want to be sneaky or short-circuit the system, but as more and more stations have their broadcasts available on-line, they must know they are going to have listeners beyond their local areas! 96 Rock already knows they are getting internet attention - ready or not!
Anyhow, I did want to pass this word along. Thanks!

I vote on 96.1 daily and request on-line too. They've been very good about playing the guys.

My sincere and heartfelt thanks to all y'all helping me with this. As I have mentioned, this station KNOWS they are getting attention from people on the internet. I asked the station about internet streaming and they tell me "it's coming, keep checking."
Someday, maybe ... :-D
In the meantime, I keep voting and requesting "Trees" - and when I catch them playing it I've been sending them a thanks!
I'll bet the people at that station know my name by now .... I hope that's a good thing! :-D

Still no word when 96Rock will have on-line streaming available, but they continue to give "Trees" airplay, and I keep requesting and sending them thank yous.
Thanks to all here who are helping me out with this.

I noticed today that "Trees" is no longer on the "Playlist" voting list for 96Rock. I'm not sure what the station guidelines are for songs being on the list (I've sent an email asking).
However, this station is playing "Trees" fairly regularly. And I keep requesting it! :-D
Kudos to 96Rock for giving "our" band early airplay in my area. Hopefully MC&LH will continue to get regular exposure there.
Thanks to all of you for your help!

(Last week they were at #11.) I don't know why they wouldn't be on their playlist vote anymore.

I don't know either ceeje unless "Playlist" vote is for newer songs - to get an idea if they should be added to the regular rotation - and once a song has a track record and gets regular airplay they don't need to be there anymore.
Thanks for the tip on yes.com. I didn't know about that.
Have a great day!

Y'all prefer your state boy American Idol Chris Daughtry by any chance? (BTW he's good but he has chosen the wrong show!)

Hee, hee, y'know I haven't even been watching the show. Too Martified I guess! :-D Just to update y'all, on 96Rock, they are continuing to put "Trees" into regular totation. I keep requesting and sending thank yous. Upcoming this summer is the Downtown Live series of concerts: www.96rockonline.com/listingsEntryHeadline.asp?ID=426144&PT=I am hoping this is what Foster referred to back in January when he told Marty in the phone intereview when Foster said they were trying to get MC&LH in the Triangle this summer. Don't all y'all want to come to Raleigh for a free concert?! Let 96Rock know you'd be interested in having MC&LH as a Downtown Live band. *just a little shameless begging here*

Thought you might be interested in a little email exchange I had with 96 rock today (slightly edited): -----Original Message----- From: keysunset Sent: Thursday, April 27, 2006 8:24 AM To: mhartel Subject: Feedback Originated from: www.96rockonline.com/contactus.aspComments [from me]: Cool! I saw the webcam spot, does that mean that online streaming is on the way? I still have friends not in the area who are asking ... Thanks! Oh, and I wouldn't be me without saying - Play more Marty Casey & Lovehammers!!! :-D I'm so looking forward to the day when we hear Casualty, or Eyes Can't See, or Clouds on your station ... Have a great day! [keysunset] And Mr. Hartel responded: We're getting closer, but not there yet. We'll let you know as soon as that happens. We will also consider your input on Marty Casey. Thanks, Mike Hartel General Manager 96rock ------------------------------------------- hee hee, consider my input! I HOPE!

This station played "Trees" this afternoon and since I was parked in carpool at the time, I was able to try to call in. I did get through and gave them a verbal thanks for playing the song and said something like "I can't wait until y'all are playing more of their songs!" The dj said something non-committal like thanks for your support. But you know the stations are taking note if someone takes the time to call in.
This past weekend, hubby and I were in Target and the kids and I managed to find all four copies of the MC&LH cd in the racks. Out of place. We put three copies in place and hubby found a section entitled "Best Music - Rock and Pop" that we put the fourth one! :-D
