Today we received an email at MartyCasey.org from Miriam, a very dear friend of Paula Kuchen's:
SAY A PRAYER FOR PAULA and ALL THE OTHER WOMEN AFFECTED BY THIS DISEASE
Please post and send love to Paula,
This year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I sent an earlier email saying that I was going to be a volunteer crew member. My mistake. I AM GOING TO WALK AND WALK AND WALK.
I am walking in honor of my own mother Charleen Hoffman who died of colon cancer in 1994 and in honor of my friend Paula Kuchen who is battling this dreadful disease right now. For more of Paula's story, you can read my blog at www.myspace.com/mimh.
I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
I've agreed to raise at least $2,200 in donations. I've set my personal goal at $10,000. AMBITIOUS, right? So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation? Please take a look at the donation form and designate the amount that's right for you. Please keep in mind how far I'm walking -- and how hard I'll have to train. I know that my efforts are nothing compared with what women go through with this disease. I have seen it up close and truly realize the devastation it brings.
According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me -- by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
Please forward this to your friends as well. We need all the help we can get. Every step no matter how small is a step in the right direction.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Much love, keep your feet dry.

We hope everyone can help with this cause.
Miriam also writes this:
"All you efforts are deeply appreciated. Would you please post also that I tell Paula everyday how much money we are raising and she loves it. It makes her feel valuable and like she is really accomplishing something even in these dark days. I don't know how to post this all and , right now I am trying to help Sam (Paula's daughter ) and Paula as much as I can. My id number on the3day.org is 2129126 if that helps in getting people to log in and donate.
The instructions for on-line donation should be on the email in thel ink to the donation form attached."
"Thanks again, and be sure to tell everyone how beautiful all the flowers are. The house is quite full right now so donating might be might be another way for people to honor our friend Paula.
Please check out my blog about Paula on myspace.com/mimh. it will tell you alot about how truly remarkable she is.
I think we are going to call our team TEAM PAULA. That is Sam and I who are walking together."
She also added this: "... Marty came to visit Paula early this week. He has always been her boy.
Your efforts will be rewarded throughout the universe."
