Hey Everyone!!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season. We are back with this years fundraiser for Kids See Stars [img src="martycasey.org/emoticons/cheer.gif"][/IMG] [img src="martycasey.org/emoticons/cheer.gif"][/IMG]


Kids See Stars (KSS) was started as a way for fans of great Chicago music to pay it forward. Each year, through the generosity of fans and musicians, we have been able to bring musical instruments to many children. Perhaps some may become the next generation of amazing Chicago musicians. We hope so!

We are excited to announce that we have chosen the Melody Elementary School to be the recipient of this year’s KSS fundraiser.

Melody Elementary is a Pre-K – 8th grade Chicago Public School serving West Garfield Park. 100% of the student population is classified as being from low-income families. The school is an oasis of hope in a poverty-stricken neighborhood but has suffered severe budget cuts and lost its music programs. Rock For Kids has stepped in to provide basic music programs for the kids but need our help! We are hoping to collect enough donations to give these kids bongos, claves, and a few basic supplies.

I hope you will join Kids See Stars in helping these kids reach for the stars through music. Every contribution will make a difference in these kids’ lives. If you love music help us Pay It Forward! [img src="martycasey.org/emoticons/friends.gif"][/IMG]

Schools, especially those in lower-income neighborhoods, should NEVER suffer from budget cuts, but sadly many do. Here's hoping that this year's fundraiser makes a beautiful difference in many young lives.

This has become one of my favorite parts of the season--I'm really looking forward to helping bring some joy to these kids!

What’s up? Thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing. I am freezing, , but then again I can’t complain when I look at the weather map across the country…. Brrrr. I hope everyone is keeping warm and enjoying the holiday season.

Jen Porter, who was one of the artists on the Chicago Acousitc cd with the Lovehammers is working with Kids See Stars again this year and donating all proceeds to KSS!!!! We are thrilled and wanted to let you know about her cd. It is a Christmas album of classic songs. I think you are just going to love her voice, it is totally amazing!!!! This is a perfect way to give the kids in need while enjoying some great music!!! It would also make a perfect hostess gift or stocking stuffer at just $5 each!!!

Just want to drop a quick note to everyone. I have had a number of folks asking me about our Annual cyber party here at the Org. Sorry to say that I ran out of time to plan, however, will try to pull something together for us after the holidays!!
