For the first time when I clicked thru to VH1 to watch the LH performances it told me that the videos were only available to US audiences. I have been watching them since they came out without any problems, so not sure why there are issues now. Is anyone else having this problem? Also, this completely sucks.

Yup, same problem here. I started a thread yesterday asking if it was just a problem in Canada.
Same situation you have - been watching the videos no problem until yesterday. By locking non-US users out the guys are going to have a lot less video plays. So it's bad for all involved.

Has anyone emailed VH1 to inquire on this policy? Maybe it is just a temporary thing? Maybe they have a different site for Canadians to go to?
I agree this sounds not good.
Modified post to add:
I just went and read their Terms of Use/Privacy Policy statement. It says this:
"This Site is offered and made available only to users 13 years of age or older who reside in the United States of America, its territories and possessions ("U.S"). If you are not yet 13 years old, or do not reside in the U.S., please discontinue using the Site immediately,..."
also later in the Terms of use it says this:
"This Site is designed and targeted to U.S. audiences and is governed by and operated in accordance with the laws of the U.S. We make no representation that this Site is operated in accordance with the laws or governed by other nations. "
So the site now must be enforcing this "US audience/laws only" clause by blocking play of the content to non-US users. You can bet there are lawyers/legal council behind this decision.

That is so ridiculous! I have never heard of a site, especially a music one, that banned residents of other countries!

That really blows my mind!
I guess Cindy's right - must be something legal behind that decision.

Strangely, I am actually more angry now. This is the WORLD WIDE WEB after all. Viacom owns MTV, CBS and other companies that are multinational. I cannot believe that Les Moonves, Sumner Redstone and the other bigwigs in the company are on baord with this. What could the reason be? And to tell people who are not in the US to discontine using the site immediately is about the most offensive, arrongant thing I have read in ages. Sheesh blood boiling now.

I'd be furious, too. Their wording is horrible.

I have looked into this a little and it seems, once again, this is a label issue. All together now, grrrrrrrr. The labels force music websites, iTunes, (fan websites).etc to make things available market by market or to discontinue showing/playing recordings. It is all to do with legal issues -- the promotions department obviously has nothing to say. The upshot is that once again int'l fans are unable to see/hear/purchase music from their fave bands. Perhaps Epic should spend more time on releasing the CD internationally than it does on preventing people from hearing LH. Just a thought.

oops, the link I posted is really long, you'll probably have to cut and paste to your browser to be able to use it.
Don't know if it will help the "outside the USA" people though.
