Hey Hammerheads! Do Dino and Billy use a specific type of Guitar? I know there are different types and stuff but do they like a specific 'brand' to say. Do they not like a type? Im wondering because im putting a little something together for the guys and saw some stickers of brands of guitars (Fender?) and didnt know if they like those or not and i dont want to get them if they dont like the brand! Please PM or reply to this thread asap!!!! Lovingmxc

Billy's site does indeed have some information. You can see him with a very nifty Gretsch. His site says this is a Customized Duo Jet. For those here who are gearheads or, like me, are old enough to remember - if Gretsch sounds familiar, George Harrison used to play them during the Beatles early years. The two that he is most associated with are a "Country Gentleman" and a "Tennessean" (spelling?). Believe it or not, both models are still available today although you gotta shell out big bucks to get them. The current version of the "Country Gentleman" is a model 6122. I've played one briefly in a shop. The other is now called a "Tennessee Rose". You'll also see on Billy's site a Gibson Firebird amongst others. I love the red Gibson SG.....that's an axe to die for. The guys are, I think, official Washburn endorsers and both Billy and Dino are Dean Markley string endorsers. Dino seems to like Gibson basses, one of which I think (trying to recall it all from memory here) is a Gibson Thunderbird. I enjoy seenig this, because it isn't just another "same old bass that everybody else plays". If you hunt around enough in HammerLand, I'd bet you can find all the info. you need. I guess to go back to your original question, I think that both guys play what they WANT to play, which is to say they play what they LIKE and what they feel gives them the sound they like the best. Obviously, it works! Marty's choices are a bit more difficult to track, it seems, as he spends most of his time without a guitar on stage and I think mostly plays the Washburns when he DOES play on stage. Regrettably, I have paid less attention to Marty's guitars........gotta change THAT. I seem to recall a photo of him with a (white?) Gibson SG but again, that's from memory and so could be wrong.

Uhhh, I think "favors" might be too strong a word. They are Washburn artists but if you watch Billy on stage you will note the other guitars as listed on his website. And you'll also see Dino with Gibson Basses, too.

Washburn custom-made the white sox guitars that the guys played at the sox game. They also made the Pilsen that Billy used to play the star spangled banner at the sox game. www.washburn.com/about/news/soxpix.aspx
