hello! My "sound engineer" husband and I are a huge fan of Marty and the Lovehammers. Although Marty and the boys haven't been to Seattle, that is where we are. So, I bought the dvd in hope to get the live sense of the band. However, the sound is not up to my standard and wondered why you didn't spend more time and attention to the mix? It seems to me that all the players did a great job, but the sound technician fell short on producing a professional quality product worth listening to. So, that's my complaint and thought you should know the sound sucks....and I am too embarrassed to share this movie with my husband...as it sounds so bad. It's too bad. I love the stories and the history of the band...but the live clips of the band sound so bad as Marty's vocals are too much in front and are out of phase with the rest of the band, they are muddy and flat, and the band disappears behind the vocal....which is too bad...because yes Marty is a serious rock star...and he could do an ripping accapela career....but his band totally rocks and I find it a shame that the mix is TERRIBLE. I will keep this dvd as I suffer through it, but wonder why I have to? I paid really good money for it.... it should sound good. actually is should sound GREAT! such good musicians that I can't hear over the vocal...you need a "wall of sound" man that mixed nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, panic, supersuckers...before they made it big in our rainy little city in our little rock clubs.
so I suppose nothing will come of this as it's a complaint, but have been mulling this over for months and had to finally say something because I am that way...love the photography and the story and all that.... however...it's just the sound I have trouble listening to...and that's too bad as music is listened to isn't it?
