Yes, you read it right, it's a new project, and we need your help!!!!! Every 2 or 3 days, we'll have NEW lyrics up on this thread. I want: 1. Pick your favorite line, then tell us why it's your favorite. The meanings will more than likely be different from everyone, so it's ok. 2. Where were you at when you first heard this song? 3. What's the "special" memory that brings up this song? 4. What inspiration, if any, does this song, melody, lyrics, the whole package bring to your life? 5. Is there a part of the song you don't like? Which part? Pick any or all, or make up your own description of the songs here listed. Just tell it to us please....This is a very special project we are doing, and NEED your input into the information here. Thanks for all the support LHStore P.S......This is a special project that hopefully will be done before Christmas....NOT TELLING what it is

FIRST SONG
CASUALTY
Nobody's safe 'round here no more. Drag this lonely boat from the shore. Cut the ropes that bind me To save the ones behind me. Nobody's safe 'round here no more. No time to wait and see, I live this life for me.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty.
I need to find my destiny. Drop my anchors, set me free. You don't know how it feels, 'Till your hands on the wheel. Drop my anchor, set me free.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty.
Nobody says we're free We're drifting through the questions Swimming for the answers Trying to keep my sanity till I reach my destination And bring you here with me.
And I'll make you believe I have control But if I lose myself, How can I save you?
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become...
The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty

I'll go first in my thoughts about this song: Please, add your own, add to this your meanings, thoughts, inspirations, whatever you want to add, add it....... The song came out in a time for me personally that I just can't change or think of differently, and I see how this song can be so many things to so many different people, I'm just stuck on this one moment in my life...... Shy, a.k.a. Taichiplayer- made this animation for me, that sticks in the head. Instead of One Man Can make a Difference......I hear, ONE FAN can make a Difference. ALL US FANS, all of us can make that difference.......She made that for me during the week last year, when I found out my tumors had become in a partial remission state, and that my chemotherapy had worked for the time being. All during this time, the Bass Campaign to win back Dino's Bass back for him was in full force, and I was literally pushing with everything I had in me, to get that instrument back to a man, that made a difference in my life. So, that song brings me back every time to that period of my life, where family was family, friends were pure, and we stood together for causes that mattered, for things in our lives that made a difference. Not just in our personal lives, but in the lives of the other people that we were meeting and connecting with..... OK, my novel is over...... YOUR TURN....

Interesting project...Let me see...um..
My favorite line in 'Casualty' is "Cut the ropes that bind me...to save the one's behind me". This line stands out in my mind, because it is very honest. Sometimes we have to escape the things that hold us captive in our lives, to save those we love.
When I first heard the song, was with my son in the living room of our home. I had bought him the cd from Target, and he was so excited to hear it. So after struggling with the wrapper, I opened the cd and put it on. We listened and he danced around. To this day, that is still his favorite song.
What special memories does this song bring up? Well, I remember when I first had my son. I was a new mom and so lost in myself. I really had no experience with babies and I kept thinking I just wasn't going to 'get it'. I was sleepless and pee pee'd on. Then I looked at my son, who was so small and quite in my arms, and it just 'clicked'. I was this sweet little persons mom, and it was my privilege to watch over him.I would protect him with my own life, not even a moments thought in doing so. I loved him.
The song makes me realize how important it was for me to have stepped away from the abusive (physical and emotional) relationship that I was in. Moreover, how important it is for me to move forward in my life. Forget the past and move on with my future.
Is there any part that I don't like...LOL...Well, I wouldn't say not like. I just had a hard time understanding the line "drop my anchors, set me free". I am guessing that it means to drop the things in your life that hold you down, and then you can drift freely through life. Yet, when I first heard it...I thought, "how can you drop your anchor and be free? Doesn't an anchor hold you in one place so that you don't drift?'. I have heard it enough times now, that I think I understand the meaning now...I just was so confused in the beginning. I think it is funny, that I even took so much time trying to analyze the line. I guess that is the true strength of a song. That it invokes a person to try to find the meaning within it.

When I first heard this I immediately thought of Rockstar:INXS
I had a feeling it was a song about Marty himself and his experience on the show..........
The chorus is what sticks with me...........gets the blood going so to speak.........it speaks of my own perseverence......my inner strength that says no matter what life throws at me..........it won't stop me...........
There is also one verse that speaks to me and my life experience.....
"Nobody says we're free We're drifting through the questions Swimming for the answers Trying to keep my sanity till I reach my destination And bring you here with me. "
Since I'm still trying to find out who I am and why I'm here and how I can make a difference this verse mimics what I am going through and continue to go through..........maybe for the rest of my life...........
It's a great song

OK, I'll give this a go........ Where was I? I was sat in my living room, it was Christmas just gone and my other half had bought me the album for Christmas, as there was no-one in the house, I played it (several times). I'd have to agree with Stilletto - I thought the chorus "the fights begun but not yet warn & I won't become one more casualty" was about RS:INXS and his fight to really make it in the industry. I find if I've had a particularly stressful day, or something that won't go away that's a negative emotion - this song seems to help shift it. I hope that makes sense. Best of luck with the " special project" I hope I was of use.

The memory that replays for me over & over again was watching Marty for the first time sing this live. The intensity/fire/drive. The emotion he brought to this song was the same as when I listen to it on the CD. He has the power to draw you in and really listen. The first time I heard it on the CD I got the chills. Even tho he speaks of his on personal struggles, this song relates to each and every one of us in one way or another. I personally love the studio mix and the rest of the guys kick ass too!
My favorite lines are:
We're drifting through the questions Swimming for the answers
I’ve have felt like this all my life. I have had a rough childhood & early adulthood and always question why me. Even at times in my adult life I question my abilities.
Persistance. Resistance
I have realized the last few years that no matter how rough things may be I need to push forward. I’m thankful that I’m still here and get up in the morning. I have my days that I have pity party for myself but quickly realize there is someone else out there having it a lot rougher than me.

Faded Grey
I really did not enjoy this song or get it until I heard it live for the first time. I seem to appreciate hearing and seeing the songs live and when I listen to them on CD it brings a whole new meaning. There is no personal meaning or lyrics that stand out to me. However I love the guitar entry into the song and the break in the chorus from Watch that dirty water fall to It fills up a Dixie cup I smile and giggle little when I hear fills up a Dixie cup, I don’t know why but I do LOL. I think it’s because I know there is a deeper meaning to this song than I know and love the mystery behind the song and wonder if one day Marty will ever tell us what it’s about. Plus who could sing Dixie cup and make it sound so cool & sexy.

Next song selected is
TREES
I don't wanna go through this life Without you by my side And I have got it all worked out In my head Here's how it's got to be
It will be you and me up in the trees And the forest will give us the answers It'll be you and I up in the sky Its a combination for disaster
We, we make believe In a world we rule together We, can build our dreams With a knot tied tight to last forever
It will be you and me up in the trees And the forest will give us the answers It will be you and I up in the sky It's a combination for disaster
Yeaa-yeaaa-yeaaa-yea-yea-yea We got one shot So let's use our imagination Yeaa-yeaaa-yeaaa-yea-yea-yea You're all that I've got So where do we go from here?
It will be you and me up in the trees And the forest will give us the answer It will be you and I up in the sky It's a combination for disaster
And I know there's more for us in this life If we hold on If we hold strong I know there's more for us in this life Can we hold on, can we hold on?
I'm not sure what this special project is, Nancy hasn't spilled the beans yet. But responding to what these songs mean to you and how they fit in your lives is a big part of the project. So hopefully you will share your feelings here or at the store forums.

HOLD ON
Everytime I hear this song is reminds me of my best friend. She had been w/someone for over 13yrs and then they broke up right before Christmas. She had a lot of rough goings after the break up. First with trying to sell their house. Him moving out and not giving money for the bills and moving out of state. And much more that I can’t really divulge due to her privacy.
But this part of the song:
I can't believe what's happened to you in one year, one year Really hits home because it was one year of pure hell for her!
I think out of this she has become a stronger person and some self discovery about herself.
Clouds will clear and the sun will shine
I always told her that eventually it will get better but to stay strong and true to yourself. And boom house sold and bought herself a townhome to call her own! I’m so proud of her being strong and learning that no matter what life throws at you to stand tall and push forward. But it is ok to have those doubts and moments of crying, it will only make you stronger!
I will be here till the end of time
This part really speaks to me because I always put everyone else first. I will do anything for anyone. I would take my shirt off for anyone I really care about (well not literally but u know what I mean LOL). I don’t like focus to be on me or burden anyone with my troubles. But I feel that after what happened it made us closer as friends because she realized what a true friend is.
And Marty is the master of lyrics and expression. I love they way he puts commitment & passion into every song he sings. True Master!

I'm glad Marty choose this to sing on the show.......It's a catchy and stick in your head song. It's not my favorite but a great sing along song. Love the guitar in this song and love watching how much fun Marty has on stage with this and seeing the countless times he has pulled up the children during this song is priceless!

I've been a bit remiss in catching up this thread with the store thread. So I'm going to post a song a day until we're caught up.
You can post your responses here or at the store in the Special Project thread. Remember, we want to hear what this song means to you. When you first heard it, is it one of your favorites, special memories tied to the song - that sort of thing.
Thanks everyone, for helping us out with this Special Project
BULLETHOLES
Disintegrate the pearly gates I need to see you, I’m coming through Decide my fate on a later date Nothing's gonna stop me from saving you
Bulletholes in my soul I’m here getting wasted Bulletholes in my soul Maybe we can make it I don't know
Why does he have the strength to devastate And murder the beauty he creates Gonna bring you back if it’s the last thing I ever do Gonna bring you back to me I swear to God – I swear to God – I swear
Watch me bleed Bulletholes in my soul Let me bleed I’m here getting wasted Watch me bleed Bulletholes in my soul Maybe we can make it I don't know
I’m missing you I’m loving you Wanna die for you Dive into you
I’m missing you I’m loving you Wanna die for you Dive into you
Wanted for a long time Taking what was once mine Wanted for a long time Now I’m taking over Wanted for a long time Taking what was once mine Wanted for a long time Now I’m taking over
Now I’m taking over Now I’m taking over Now I’m taking over Now I’m taking over I wanna die for you
Wanna die for you

Wow. this song really just helped me get through a rough spot in my life. I broke up with a great guy 7 years ago (We were kids and my mom didn't like him, we lived only an hour away from one another but we were 17 and not allowed to drive out of state often (I in MO, he in IL)). Well, after being in a relationship for almost 6 years, I realized how miserable I really was...so did my ex. We kept in touch through the years and decided once more that we needed to see one another again. So...we did. (oh this story has a LOT more too it...I’m just giving the long and short of it!)
I need to see you, I’m coming through Decide my fate on a later date
I needed to see my ex once more. I was realizing I was still in love with him and he never denied that he never quit loving me. So, even though I was still with my long-term bf at the time I decided to see my ex and deal with the consequences later (deciding my fate at a later date) So I came through with the plans and went to see him on Aug 26, 2006.
Nothing's gonna stop me from saving you
After I left that night (like 20 minutes later!) he found out his girlfriend had been sleeping with his friend (who lived across the hall from them). I not only WANTED to be there for him…I NEEDED to be there for him.
Maybe we can make it I don't know
We ended up getting back together after I got the guts to get out of my emotionally abusive relationship, even though we were just going to give it a try. We had no clue if our new relationship would work. We had spent more time apart than together.
I’m missing you I’m loving you Wanna die for you Dive into you
We were now 2 hours away from one another and my family (keep in mind I am 22 years old at this point!!!) refused to let me see him (I moved back in with my mom after my stroke that April). We saw one another as much as possible, but I am still recovering from my stroke and get tired easily and he has his daughter every weekend.
Wanted for a long time Taking what was once mine Wanted for a long time Now I’m taking over
This means 2 major things to me: I was taking back the love of my life and doing anything I had to to be with him. I was also taking charge of my own life for the first time. This isn’t a good way as to how this happened, but I did and I love it (even though it means not speaking to my family at the moment). 3 months have gone by since I moved in with him (we have been engaged since Jan 1) and we are still trying to take over our lives…but so far so good!
This song really helped me get through the day to day of missing Bryan and dealing with the failure of my last relationship and gave me the strength to go on when I felt like I couldn't take it anymore. In some ways, it literally saved my life.

Thanks fallenangel!
Next songs (I'm posting 2 to try and get closet to catching up with the store thread).
Rain On The Brain
The pieces fall slowly away Did I fail to mention The reason for my laughter 'times I feel like my mind is going insane I am barely breathing Searching for some comfort 'times it feels like it's raining on my brain
The pieces fall slowly away And I need you to comfort my pain
Did I fail to mention Life is moving faster 'times I feel like my mind is going to break I'm losing feeling No longer dream in color 'times I feel like it's raining on my brain
The pieces fall slowly away And I need you to comfort my pain
Memories of you still stand strong Memories of me were gone all along
The pieces fall slowly away And I need you to comfort my pain
Time's the only question Time's the only answer And I wonder what is going on Say that you'll never leave me Say that you'll never leave me 'times I feel like it's raining on my brain
THE TUNNEL
There's a light at the end of the tunnel Wait for me I'll be coming home soon
And when you cry your eyes i'll remember Stare at me I can hypnotize you.......keep callin
Keep calling keep calling Keep calling keep calling
And the distance has been murder On my mind Can't see you with my own eyes
If you decide to get with another Remember who I'm the one that loves you............always
Keep calling keep calling Keep calling keep calling
If I could just go back One more time I'd hold on and never let go Just go back One more time I'd never let Never let you go
SOLO
And there's a light at the end of the tunnel Wait for me I'll be coming home soon
You have to die to get discovered Peek-A-Boo I see you through the exit wound........Keep Calling
Keep calling keep calling Keep calling keep calling
Well I found your hiding places In the bedroom, In the basemwnt Like a scared child under the blankets No one knows you like I know you They'll try to control you like I told you They'll try to control you No No No No!
