Ok I know I sound like a used car salesman, but just a reminder not to get complacent in the download department. TREES has been No 1 on MSN Music for I believe, three weeks now. YEAH! However, its more important now than ever..that we don't allow his songs to just fall off the chart. I believe the proceeds from the DLs are still going to the hurricane victims..so it's a good cause in two ways. Let's keep Marty on the top of the charts. They are only $.99 per song. I will gladly spend a few more dollars to keep our boy UP where he belongs. Thanks.

I've got all of his stuff downloaded except for Arms Wide Open. Am I blind or is that song just not available on MSN?

I'd love to help and I'd REALLY love to download the final performance of "Don't Change", but I can't find it anywhere! I don't think INXS wants it released for some reason? If anyone's got it transfered directly from the show, let me know. I would pay for it if I could! Thanks!!!

Good point, sweetangel. I actually hated that song until I heard Marty's version. (that goes for Don't Change, too)
Bloody hell!

I think that is also the reason Marty didnt sing SUICIDE BLONDE on the finale. Marty was the talk of the boards after singing SUICIDE BLONDE on the radio. Most everyone loved it. There were even fans of the others that gave him kudos. I think INXS was afraid to have him sing it on the finale. We already knew he kicked butt w/ DONT CHANGE, but for the most part, the viewers of the show had not heard him sing SUICIDE BLONDE. INXS already had chose JD and just had Marty sing the song everyone had heard him do already. At first, I thought it was all about "just" sending the message to Marty not to change. But, now I believe there was more to it. I noticed something else during the finale. May be nothing to it. But, we have a small theater w/ an awesome sound system in our house. Well, during JDs INXS performance the sound was totally different than when Marty sang the INXS song. During Martys song, the sound was really, for lack of words, muffled or hollow sounding. But then, after Martys song, the sound was normal again. It wasnt like that any other time during the show except for when Mig sang BH. I taped it on DVD and every time I listen, I hear the same thing. It is actually quite noticable, if you are listening close.

Woah. You know what? I was just watching that performance yesterday and was thinking how effed up the sound was. It did sound muffled and well, just crappy. I remember thinking how it sucked that it came across that way on t.v., when it was such an amazing live performance.

Wow, I'll have to check that out tonight. I still have it on my DVR and don't plan on deleting it anytime soon so I'll check out the sound and see if I can see a difference too. Thanks for pointing that out.

OK, so you noticed it too. Listening to other DVDs of the shows the sound is really clear the whole show. I hadnt really paid any attention to the elimination shows. They may have just did it for the finale because Mig & Marty were so EXTREMELY poplular over Elvis (uh, I mean JD)
Marty WYWH will sound great. Migs song will not JDs will sound great
Mig gets eliminated
Martys sound is hollow JDs will sound great
JD gets the gig
JD is a terrible singer (but thats a different story) the sound will be great w/ INXS

I'm going to have to watch it again so I can investigate. But yeah, I definitely noticed it, too.

Heck!! Maybe I was so biased I was imagining things. I have listened several times though. Maybe my ears are going out on me. I had read spoilers after the show and everyone was talking about how great rockers sounded. It just sounded odd listening to it.

I'll tell you another time that the audio is turned way down... that is during Creep. I have to turn that song way up on my cd when I play it.... and then I have to jump and turn the vol back down to normal when the next song comes on or risk an ear blow out!

I absolutely noticed that about Creep too. It seemed too low when I watched it on t.v. and it's definitely quieter on the video clip MSN made available for download. I have the turn the volume way up for that one too. Strange.

So you think the sound was sabtotaged? That's such an Idol trick. I didn't think about this during Marty's finale performance, I just knew it sounding "lacking". I also had the problem with Creep being very low volume. I thought it was the problem of whoever made my mp3. (You can d/l a nice little program called mp gain that you can use to level out your sound before you burn a cd.) On the night of the final I had a feeling they had already dicided on JD. It ran though my mind that giving Marty "Don't Change" again they were saying -- "you are not going to win" .It has the effect of telling the TV audience "this guy can only handle only one INXS song". When in reality all of us know he could have blown the audience away with "Suicide Blonde"

Yeah, my friend called immediately after she watched the finale and screamed, "Why didn't they give JD a B-side, too?"
Total crap, man.

Until I heard Marty's exit interview, I had thought he didn't want to win. His finale performances were nowhere near as good as those two songs sounded the first time he did them. His first version of Don't Change was so powerful. It makes sense that they made his worse at the finale....they said they wanted JD sing the songwriting clinic. Does anyone else feel "ripped off" after hearing them say that? JD should have got the boot after that little tantrum - not won the whole thing.

I'm with you, sweetangel. I think that INXS had already decided on JD and so they gave Marty the same song he had already done to play it safe. His "Suicide Blonde" is GREAT!
I think JD is the right choice for INXS, though. They are really a pop band, and JD is a pop singer. Marty is a rock singer.
