So was the title of the new song "Been There, Done That"? After all the buildup, that was the new sound? Big f'ing deal. It sounded like Rolling Stones wannabes to me. The dancing girls were gratuitous fluff, which was also ironic after Gilby said he didn't like Jill's bump and grind. This was mediocre rock and roll, Las Vegas style. And I think Dilana got lost in all the theatrics. Ditto Wendy... And from what I could make out of the lyrics....something about leaving the lights on....it's better for the camera??? HMMMMM...Tommy must have some major input here!! ;D Been quite the interesting season....my personal fave, whether she is right for Supernova or not.... is Dilana. My 2nd fave is gone...that was Josh. Again, not right for Supernova....but he is unique and I his voice & style. I hope to catch him locally sometime as he is from my area! Love reading everyone's reviews....and impressions....

I am happy Storm is safe too. She can sing anything it seems. I notice that on song selection she is the one that sing the melody for the rockers when they aren't familiar with a song, thats cool. She is kinda like Suzi McNiel that way. Only better. I think Storm looks like a cross between Kim Catral and Lisa Hartman Black. I tried something for fun. I went back and listened to all this weeks performances with my eyes closed. We wont be looking at them sing once they are on the radio you know? Sure did change some of my opinions. Try it you'll like it Jilly

The dancing girls were gratuitous fluff, which was also ironic after Gilby said he didn't like Jill's bump and grind. Excellent point. My first thought was, "who called in the Solid Gold dancers?"

I thought the Supernova song had a good beat to it but those dancers made it seem like I was watching a Madonna show . IMO, dancers are not needed for a rock band. It kinda cheesed it up .

Did any of you see Josh on the reality show video online, when he sang his own song? It was awesome! And it was the ONLY song that SN really got into. I just don't know why they canned him. It was a really good song, and i thought it was a good fit for Supernova. I also liked Storm's original song.
I didn't think Dilana looked or sounded that bad, but with all that stuff going on...the lights, dry ice, dancing girls, etc...i don't think it would've made a difference who'd been up there singing. I really couldn't understand the words very well (except for some cheesy lyrics mentioned above - 'leave the lights on', etc). Can't remember a bit of the melody this morning, and I am a singer. Contrast that to Marty's 'trees,' which i was walking around singing immediately after the show. Then I listened to his album a couple of times, and was walking away singing the songs.
I was just starting to come around to like Dilana, but i don't like her new attitude either. She's way too cocky, and frankly, I've never been a big fan of her voice. I love Stormy...she's got a commanding stage presence, and she's got the voice! I'd love to see her rock with SN. Magni does absolutely nothing for me, although i did enjoy his version of Creep last night. It was sooo much better than Lukas's (his voice is just not that strong when he's not doing the gravelly voice thing), but obviously not as good as Marty's!
Patrice definitely needs to go! i was hoping they'd send her packing with Z last night. oh well, there's always next week. :-)

I'm getting tired of Dilana's voice, too, but really, at this point would you go to a SuperNova concert? An entire night of songs like the one they did last night could get really boring ... even with the lights, dry ice, "dancing" girls (and I use the term loosely) ...
And I think they have all become too cocky. I haven't warmed up to any of them as people.

You've got a point. I think there's about zero chance that I would go to a SuperNova concert. I might go to see Storm, if it was extremely convenient (and I really like her!), but I have no interest in the others. Not even Panic Channel...I saw them on the Tonight Show the other night, and thought they were terrible. Just didn't like the song. I do miss seeing more of Dave on RockStar though. He really should be on camera more than he is. And what's the deal with the producers making them put their clothes back on?! Come on, we need SOME excitement on this show!!! LOL!

Wendy and Gingin, I agree with you guys. I don't think I would pay money to go and see Supernova live. I really don't think any of the contestants are right/good enough for the band. I might go and see their show if Ryan or Toby end up winning... but if anyone else does... probably not. And gigin, I totally agree with what you said about the guys putting their shirts back on. Like come on now!

Well, actually, I'm happier when TLee has his shirt on ... but as for the rest of them ... off! off! off!

I can't remember who made the comment upthread, but I liked Magni's performance of Creep better than Lukas'. Lukas did a great job last time, but he also gave us a peek into his vocal limitations.
Magni is my favorite. By far he is the best vocalist of the group. But I believe Lukas will win. I was a schmuck for not voting last night! I should've been voting for Magni. Magni's problem is he is lacking in charisma....Lukas has tons of it. And I think that will be Magni's downfall. Like I said, I believe he's the best vocalist of the lot.
I'm glad Z's gone. 'Nuf said.
I'm tiring of Dilana, too. I got bored with her SN song last night and realized 1) I wouldn't pay to go to a concert or buy a CD and 2) I've been comparing her to Jordis and Dilana doesn't hold a candle to Jordis.
Storm deserved bottom 3 for her performance rather than Magni. I know many of you are Storm fans, but she's just "meh" for me.

Yeah, I'm not a big Storm fan, either. She has a good voice, but she just doesn't "bring it" ... and the Gloria Gaynor was awful.
I've also been comparing Dilana with Jordis (maybe it's the hair) but I just can't imagine her singing with any real emotional depth. There's no way she could pull off "Man Who Sold The World" like Jordis did.

I have three pics now that are the strongest for me........
1. Ryan 2. Magni 3. Toby
Lukas and Dilana have stage presence but to me that is all........I can't stand either of their voices.........A whole set of rasp from Dilana and grunge from Lukas.....phoooey.........wouldn't waste my money.
Patrice just irks me........I'd make her pay me to listen to her.........
Storm remindsd me of a Grease character for some reason........hmmmm
To be frank...........I really don't think any of them are right for Supernova.........If Marty was on this year........it would be a gimme........he's perfect for them and he can outstage all three of them put together........
But Marty belongs right where he is with the Lovehammers..........they will rule the world of music very soon..........

Yuppers - Marty himself said he may have been more roit for SN than INXS. I wish one of this year's group would REALLY step up to the plate like Marty did every time he took the mike. I'm not seeing a lot of Tommy Lee style rocking nor a whole lot of charisma/connection with the audience. Patrice just does not seem to connect at all - with anyone, I guess. The best vocals overall have been Magni and Storm with decent renditions by Toby and Lukas. Final 5: no order: Dilana (she blends with SN like the Geico gecko) Lukas (TLee luvs him, Jason prods him) Storm (poor thing - I Will Survive? liked to have seen Magni do that one) Toby (bongos? punch it up) Magni (don't fall on the catwalk anyone - again) Sigh - when's the next LH concert... ;D Edited to say: Stil - you're right - none of them seem right for SN.

I had just told my sis (a big Josh fan) that I was starting to see how Josh could fit with SN. His original lyrics to the SN song was the best out of the bunch. Then they go and can him - what's up with that? BTW - I'm still a Toby Fan - He's Hot!!!
