Okay, this is a strange spisode --very emotional. It is so interesting how this Dilana thing is playing out. The most shocking thing of all is that she is only 34. I would have guessed older.

Photo thing was weird. The photographer might be professional, but if he were any good, he'd make the subject comfortable in the shoot. Saying to Magni time and again "I don't like that" is not cool and not the way to get what you're looking for. The magazine editor/stylist should be in there helping. I'm just saying 'cause I know whereof I speak.
Also, how come the setting for Lukas' pix was so cool and the pix looked so boring? They should have been grainy and grungy not tigerbeat.

Songs -- I'm keeping an open mind. It'll be interesting. At this point they should all be good performances.

okay, most of all I am dying cause we have just learned from Dave's blog that they have scrapped the idea for guest judges. If there's any Marty it'll be on the finale. I always knew deep down that the RS:S guys wouldn't let anyone else get a word in, but man it hurts to have it confirmed.

Off to drown my sorrows. Maybe I'll do like Dilana and put on my socks, sit on the window ledge and cry cry cry....

Oh please, no! don't let it be true...after all this ...no Marty ...judging - scrapped !? Let's hope he gets some place on the show before it's over!! That WOULD make it a REAL loser season if that doesn't happen!!

I'm not a fan of Dilana (just don't care for her voice) so I was concerned when SN didn't send her home this week. If ever they had a chance it was tonight, for two reasons. First, what she revealed about her true character in the last few episodes and her not-so-hot Talking Heads performance. Since they didn't send her home I'm thinkin' they are REALLY considering her as their winner?

I didn't really think Ryan's good-bye speech was all that cool. He seemed pretty bitter. It's hard when we all know how gracious Mr. Casey was last season.

At this point I think Toby is the best fit.

Elim episode has just aired on Oz TV.

Really sad that Ryan has gone, I thought it would be Storm for sure but then when Dilana ended up down there with the others I was so hoping she would get the flick.

TOBY the encore, he is my fave, just love his cheeky grin and those beautiful blue eyes, aside from the fact he only lives 35 minutes from me when home here in Australia.

I honestly hope Ryan does go on to have a great solo career, I would definitely buy his CD after checking out his myspace page he certainly has talent. Pity he went home before the song writing clinic as he would've walked that in. Can't wait to see what the others come up with.

HATED SN song but thought Lukas did OK with what he had to work with, there is no way I would be buying the SN CD unless TOBY is fronting the band. The 3 songs so far have pretty much sucked!

Surely STORM is the next go as I thought all 3 songs tonight were VERY ordinary!

Yay Magni!!! That was so cool!

Lukas did a good job with the trash SN gave him to sing.

I did not like Ryan at all, what a freakin mess. I'm not sad to see "The Dark Horse" go home. I am confused because I was under the impression that SN really liked him. I wondered what was said in between Gilby and TL because they didn't even do the dramatic build up and long pause, just see ya.

Dilana was horrendous! What a perfect song for her, she is psycho! I loved the SN guys doing the don't look the crazy person in the eye thing. It looked like they hated her performance. I hated the silly prancing around the stage bit.

I can't remember what Storm sang and I think she's next. But I still like her and yes Jodie I think she could be a man.

I know Ryan was starting to grow on people, but I was glad to see him go. I just don't buy it with him. He reminds me of someone who was in the business world and then decided to be a rocker.

Dilana needs to go. Does anyone else think she is this year's Jordis? A favorite early on, and then basically falling apart?

I think the final two will be Lukas (although I am not a fan) and Toby.

Every time I looked at Ryan, I saw "dentist" ... he overdid it last night (understatement of the decade) and it came across like he was thinking, "Okay, what stupid rock cliche can I throw in now?" Totally contrived, and not at all musical. But I think the guy has the chops for a solo career, once he realizes that he should leave the climbing, hanging, and jumping to somebody who knows what he is doing (gee, who would that be?).

Dilana is not Jordis ... I can't imagine her singing "Man Who Sold The World" ... she doesn't have Jordis' sensitivity, and her voice is starting to grate on me. But she certainly is crashing and burning the same way! Ka-BOOM!

One thing that is lacking for me this season is any variety. It just seems that all the rockers are going for smashmouth performances. Ryan "grew" only in the sense that he got more manic over the last couple of weeks. SN telling Storm she hasn't grown is ridiculous when SN themselves are so one-dimensional (although I agree with them about her).

And I'm also annoyed at Brooke and Dave's silly comments comparing this year to last year, especially when they are wrong. But at this point, I'm glad Marty isn't in this year's show. He wasn't quite right for INXS, but SN is a one-trick pony and there is nothing he can learn from them.

Hey what is the deal with all these RS:SN avatars??? ...... You guys are gonna give me a complex. Show some LH love!!

But, yeah... I think Ryan, the overwrought rocker, was due. He has a pretty crappy attitude too, if you listen to his exit interview. The guy is delusional. None of the bottom 3 performances were very good. In fact they were mostly crappy and overdone. I am really getting tired of people jumping, stomping around, going into the audience, leaping from things, etc etc. YAWN! been there done that. All of this posturing and only a couple of folks really know how to deliver.

Here is my short analysis of each rocker at this point

Lukas... charismatic, interesting, original. His voice is unique, not necessarily the strongest in the competition, but his own thing and he knows his strengths and weaknesses and doesn't try to copy any one else or over think what he is doing. Seems natural...even under all the makeup and quirky wardrobe, he is true to himself. Edgy and cool.

Toby.... fun, cute, likeable, good voice. Not really edgy, though. He is "let's party" fun. Honest and likable. And everyone seems to like him and his attitude.

Magni.... great voice, seems to be a really nice guy. Probably the best voice in the competition, but not very charismatic and his stage presence is not his strong suit. Not in the least bit edgy. But a solid classic rock singer.

Storm...quite a stage performer...but this one is entertaining like Bette Midler is.... not sure it is pure rock. Lots of theatrics...but in a strong, ribald sort of way. Not edgy unless it becomes part of her performance in a song. Sometimes over-performs a song.

Dilana....has an interesting quirky voice that can sound really good....but at times she is just too pre-meditated bizarre. That angry stomping around and ugly dance moves just turn me off. At first I was amused and entertained by it...now I am over it. If she would just stop that and really sing, I might like her more. I like her a lot at first, but grew tired of her about midway through the competition.

As much as I like Magni's voice, I know he is not going too much further...he just isn't the modern rock edge they seem to be looking for. And neither is Storm.


I think Lukas and Dilana are definately neck and neck in this.... and Toby has a real chance too. He seems to be doing better and better all the time.

are you kidding....I have been to several tapings..I (we) always wear our bracelets...several usually...i have even given mine out to people who had no idea marty had an album out but loved him from last year., and you should see how excited they get.. What is funny is that most people watched last season, but don't know marty has a band or is on tour, or has an album or ANYTHING which is shocking to me...but it's true. It is so funny last week Jodieca, diva and I were talking to these 3 chicks, telling them all about MCLH...saying it is the best live show they will see. they loved marty from RSINXS, but as usual had no idea what he was doing now. Anyway...by the end of our conversation, we had them excited and anticipating LH coming out west...we even told them about Hammerjam in Oct. etc. I tell you, It has never been so easy to ST then at RS...cuz everyone loved marty last year...they just need to know what he is doing...that is why we need the LH to get out here ASAP! But yes...tons and tons of STing at Rockstar every week. I will be going again this sunday to do it all over again..(I need more bracelets..i have only 2 left..ha ha) (We work the west coast hard...even though we are negelcted. poor west coast....ha ha)

Sorry, I'm about to go off-topic: Anyway, I'm glad to hear you wear the bracelets and do some ST'ing at the tapings ... but it once again raises the question about PR for MCLH! This band has a potential fan base that would jump all over them ... if they just knew where they were playing or that they have a CD out!

All the AI runner-ups get press. But Marty, even though he was the fan favorite, gets none?

A friend of mine, who knew nothing about Marty except for the one picture I sent her of him, went with me to the Canal Room. Now she is totally hooked! She loved Marty's stage presence (even though the Canal Room stage is the size of a postage stamp and he couldn't really do his thing) and said this band has the potential to be huge. We all know that already.

At every show I went to that week, I talked to people on line with me. Without exception, at each of the four shows, there was someone on line who went to see INXS and came out a LH fan.

Simple things could make a big difference, too. The Canal Room had a poster of the band in the window. The show was sold out. How hard would it have been to put a banner over the picture saying that? People walking by (after all, NY is a walking town) would have noticed and been impressed.

You don't have to be a marketing genius to figure this stuff out.

Anyway, thanks to all you ST'ers and Hammerheads who are spreading the word at the RS tapings!

I really liked all the performances on Tuesday but I cannot say the same thing about the elimination show last night. Dilana was awful for the first time, Ryan sucked and Storm has been better. I was surprised when SN sent Ryan home but I was actually shocked when I heard his exit interview. He was so arrogant and terrible.

But I was thrilled for Magni and Toby – they are just shining.
