This is a MYSPACE link to Magni's previous band SHAPE prior to him being recruited for A Moti Sol. Shape seems to have been more of a harder alternative type of band rather than pop. Dilana is coming to Iceland this week to sing with Magni and his band. Yesterday they started to sell tickets for the Saturday gig and it was sold out in 2 hours. In addition they will have some family event earlier that day and it is also sold out. Unfortunately it is held in a way to small place because it only takes about 2000 people. Who runs this anyway? We have bigger buildings here. Today it was announced that they would put on an extra concert on Friday and guess what, it is sold out. And by the way, I´ve got a ticket  and hopefully I will be able to shoot some pictures for you  |

That sounds like so much fun! I'm thrilled you got tickets....and YES, please post photos for us. I know you'll have a blast. Maybe they booked the venue not expecting the turnout to be so large? Aw, glad he's doing ok, have stayed away from the RS:SN part of the forums as I didn't want to know who won, found out last night. Really liked Magni - thought he had the best voice out of all the ones I saw. Have a fab time when you see him & Dilana (SP?), looking forward to finding some pics on here!  |

Lithium - awesome, full report please! Ok, here is the report... [glow=red,2,300]Magni and Dilana in Iceland[/glow] The show was amazing and I had a blast. It was way over my expectation. The place was packed out and the crowd went mad when Magni and they guys in his band Á móti sól showed up. They played many old songs that they are recognized for here in Iceland. Magni was looking hot, wearing blue jeans and black tight T-shirt. His bald head was decorated, green stripes on the sides and big pink glimmer stripe on the back. The atmosphere was insane, lots of sing along, clapping and screaming  . After a few songs Dilana stepped in. Then the Rockstar songs started. Dilana began with Ring of fire, totally amazing and then she kept on nailing the songs. When I watched the RS Tv-shows I didn´t know if I really liked her. First I liked her, then when all the drama started I disliked her and on the finale I thought she was so great. But although I loved her voice I remember that I had been thinking if I would like to go to concert with her. Maybe I would get tired listen to her for too hours or so. After seeing her live yesterday I can tell you that I have made up my mind once and for all, I absolutely love her, period. She was incredible on the stage. She was extremely cheerful, energetic, fun and of course her voice is a killer but you all know that. She did a lot of talking between songs and got a good connection with the crowd. She said that this was her first visit to Iceland but definitely not the last. She thanked Magni for all his help on the RS shows. She declared that she loves Magni and his band Á móti sól and said that this band is one of the best that she has been working with. She talked about when she and Magni were on the RS Shows, she discovered that Magni was like a human jukebox and now she was so amazed to find out that his band is also a terrific jukebox, they can play anything. Dilana was in a such a good mood, she even sang along chorus in Icelandic with Magni. He obviously taught her a few lines but in another song that Magni sang in Icelandic she just played along, pretended to sing and did some goofy movements, she was so cute and funny. One time the drummer stepped away then Dilana quickly sat down behind the drums and played a solo, men she is so talented . They played non stop for more than two and a half hours, songs from RS and cover songs and originals. Yes this was a complete package. The songs were so many that I can´t remember them all but what comes to my mind right now is when Magni sang: Dolpins Cry, Creep, New Generation, Hush and Dilana sang Lithium (my favorite... ha ha), Roxanne, Mother Mother, Every breath you take and Supersoul. The crowd was not going to let them go too soon and gave them a huge encore, twice. I think that they were running out of songs because the selection was getting weird. Dilana sang a song from Lion King you know: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight… and then pls. do not faint she sang Marty´s version of Baby hit me one more time. It was pretty cool I can tell you  . In few words, this show was a huge success. I know that Magni and Dilana will be performing somewhere in Canada next weekend and I urge you Canadians to go. Have fun! I took pictures but unfortunately it was way to dark for my camera and most of the pictures failed. I know that bad pictures can be better than nothing so if I find a way to post them I will. I have not post pictures before on this board so I don´t know how to do it. But we´ll see. |

WOW - What a show you saw, Lithium  2 1/2 hours worth   and ALL those songs. Thanks for sharing your great experience. If you need help with your pics, PM me and maybe I can lighten them up for you and tell you how to post them. |
