Hey guys just to let you know there was heaps of exposure over here in NZ when the Supernova CD came out. They sent Lukas down here for a few days and he was interviewed on every music channel and the primetime news channel did a interview with his Dad!! It was like Lukas mania everytime you turned on the TV for a few days Same with When INXS CD was about to be released they sent JD & Gary Beers down and had a number of promo gigs

FYI: Rolling Stone magazine. 30 November 2006 review of RS:SN 2 1/2 stars "Spawned by the CBS reality show (an American Idol for rockers), Rock Star:Supernova stars Season Two winner Lukas Rossi backed by Tommy Lee, ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and ex-G'n'R guitarist Gilby Clarke. The band's debut is mostly big, catchy arena rock: "Leave the Lights On" sounds like Velvet Revolver covering Cheap Trick, and "Be Yourself (and 5 Other Cliches)" packs in a huge hair-metal chorus. Rossi wails like a recoding vet (which he is), but most of the tunes feel tired, if not retrograde: Opener "It's On" could have come from Collective Soul, the ballads suck, and there are some dark sub-Alice in Chains bangers. The bright spot: it's probably better than the upcoming Taylor Hicks record" -- Christian Hoard there is also a pic of the band with the caption : Rock Star Supernova or dwarf star?I don't have any opinion on the sound --never expected it to be my thing, but I will say that review had more colons ( than I have ever typed before in one paragraph!

Overall, I enjoyed the CD... really loved Valentine, and of course Head Spin. When listening to it... you really have to admit that Lukas was the best choice. But alas... as was the case for the Lovehammers release... the promotion for it sucks!!

I finally bought my tickets for the Norfolk show. It lists Johnny Colt instead of Jason Newsted, though. The Constant Center is a lot bigger than Chrysler Hall, where they had it last year. I doubt it will sell out. I was able to get seats in the second section back at this late date. Does anyone know if any of the performers will do a meet and greet?

Good going Shy! I go to see Mr. Rossi and band and all the others next week in Orlando. I don't know of any plans for meet and greets except people with VIP passes that they were selling earlier for beaucoup bucks. I am just going to enjoy the show. I would love to meet Mr. Rossi, but don't see it happening realistically.

With a venue the size of Hard Rock, I'm not expecting to meet any Rockstars either, but the show should be fun. yc

[/IMG]
Oh boy, I feel a major butt whooping coming from Trees if I don't post some sort of review lol! Ok, I'll attempt to give a bit of a review here! First of all I'd like to say I have pics to share, but unfortunately we were told they were checking everyone very thorough, so we put our cameras back at a friends room. Of course when we get inside we see plenty of people with cameras, but what can you do. So after meeting a few fangirls for dinner before the show, we headed into the venue. Once inside we were all kinda herded into the center of the venue as most of the tickets sold were general admission...we were about center stage maybe 15 rows back. First up was Juke Kartel, whey played for about 20 mins or so, I don't remember the order or all the songs, but I know they played Save Me (I like this one), Chemical Dreaming, and covered Burning Down the House. They sounded really good and didn't look to bad either. Next up was Dilana, I was surprised at the amount of audience response to her when she came out vs. J/K. She was in true Dilana fashion, her hair reminded me of skittles (taste the rainbow) ;D ;D Anyway, Dilana also played about 20 mins. and started her set with her version of Roxanne, (personal opinion here but ) next she did a song I didn't know, then went into Time After Time. I have to admit she does that song very well. Then I believe she closed her set with another of her own songs. I like her voice, she sounded good, but for the love of God, I wish the girl would pick some better songs to sing. Then came Panic Channel! I have to say they were the best show of the night. I had not really listened to Panic Channel in the past, and was surprised at how they sounded live. Steve Isaacs (lead singer) is quite theatrical on stage, very entertaining, and was pretty hot looking too So I can't name most of the songs they performed, but I can say Why Cry is the one that sticks out in my mind (especially live). The played for about 45 mins or so, and closed their set with Highway To Hell. Ok, for those of you who are PPOD fans...yes he did look HOT! He came out with tight black pants on, no shirt, and a hat. Let me just say, that man does not have an ounce of fat on him...his body is so firm and cut in all the right places...I was surprised in a pleasant way! Ok, part two will be SuperNova...gotta jet for now.

Ok, part two will be SuperNova...gotta jet for now. Hey - good job, ycrney! We saw Panic Channel at the Roxy - but had already been hammered and what's left after that, anyway... ;D ;D ;D Would like to see them on a separate venue. Looking forward to your Supernova review...

Thanks guys, Treedom, you are so right after being hammered whats left. Ok, so on to SuperNova, this one will probably be short for two reasons: 1. It was my least favorite part of the night and 2. half way through the first song, we decided it was time for a bathroom and bar break. (That should sum up SN in a nut shell). Now keep in mind this is only my opinion. First of all, we waited some time for the stage set up after PC, which took away some momentum that PC had built. Once they got started Lukas comes out wearing dark jeans, black t-shirt, long black trench coat and a pink fuzzy boa ( [/IMG] ) not to mention that he had a diamond studded mic. Lukas was all sparkly with his glam makeup, just as we saw each night on the show. T-Lee was in his usual atire, pants and no shirt, and Gilby also in his usual...nothing new to note. I can't tell you all the songs, because even though I had downloaded, listened too, and even liked some of there songs prior to the concert, I couldn't make out most of the words because they had the music sooooo load it drowned out Lukas. Now, I also liked Lukas's songs on RS, but it seemed that night they were trying to cover up his voice. The stage was nothing short of old 80's rock glam in my opinion, lots of lights and distractions that take away from the rock. They covered Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" not a good choice, and they also covered another song, but can't remember what it was. So I wish this part of the review could have been more positive, but I'm calling it as I saw it. SuperNova, should enjoy this tour, cause I can't see a long-term future going on there (IMO). The night as a whole was good, and when I wasn't enjoying a particular band onstage, I was spending time with other fangirls and having a blast. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] So there it is in a nut shell...Juke Kartel, worth seeing...Dilana good as an extra, wouldn't go see on her own...Panic Chanel, worth spending a few bucks to see...SN, wouldn't bother to go see again. Hopefully, I didn't offend anyone, with this, if I did I'm sorry. [/IMG] It was how I saw it. YC

YC Yer, I appreciate your take on what you saw, felt, heard, felt I like listening to someone who has done their homework, knows Rock N Roll and can give a cognitive opinion!!! Been to a couple of concerts with the exact situations you referred to and just like you found these, shall we say acoustics suck, glitches caused by a guy in charge of sound was having a beer and not paying attention or maybe he was the one playing with the Lights, smoke and whistles causing all the distraction!! Lucky you had some enjoyment with JK, Dilana, PC [/IMG] Too bad SN didn't turn out as a lot of people had anticipated too!! I like Lukas, enjoy his voice range and would like to experience listening to him along with T-Lee and the guys. Even though your review was short, there was a lot of pertinent information there. Thanks for telling it like it was for you. This is what a review is supposed to be like. Clear and straight. [/IMG] ps.... Treedom being hammered again!! ;D ;D

Rockstar Supernova is performing on Regis & Kelly this morning. I watched that and they did a nice acoustic set. Tommy Lee played piano.

Sorry I don't get Regis here Anymore information available? Sorry Trees - They sang "I Can't Bring Myself to Light this Fuse" with T. Lee on piano. Lukas had on the sparkle and glossy lipstick. After that, Lukas and Gilby did an acoustic version of "Headspin" but only got to see maybe 30 seconds of it and they cut them off due to the time .
