it doesn't make sense to me why JD or Lukas are even in the running? they already won? why should they get to win again? It seems this should be for the 2nd and 3rd and maybe 4th place winners?? Just my thoughts

Well, we pretty much got our asses handed to us on a platter this go round. I am not going to say anything negative about any of the song performances from this week....but those results really surprised me. We need to get organized and get the vote out this week. Who can help here? We need people emailing and pming other fans to vote on next Sunday, or we will def be bottom three the way this is going.

Just my thoughts Hi, it started with 18 rockers, and this week it'll be down to 9. Each week they eliminate one rocker from the three who got the fewest votes. It sort of follows how Rock Star INXS worked. We were doing great until a whole lotta people voted this week, then it became a tight race. Did that make sense? I'm not the best at the technical stuff.

Just my thoughts Okay, here's my thoughts! If everyone who voted during the TV show was voting now, Marty would probably win this thing. He was the popular choice in season one, and I'll bet he'd do very well against the popular vote-getter in season two. He didn't "win" because INXS went another way, but he did get the most votes by the public. And this game is all about the voters. There is no band or judges - it's just us. So I know that if enough people were voting, Marty could hold his own - even against the two winners. The problem is that we have very small numbers voting. We had nearly 100,000 unique visitors a day during Rock Star - and for this we get 400 people voting. It's just too small of a sample. The MiG fans have been aggressively recruiting - I'm in awe over how organized they are. So yeah, JD and Lukas are in this as well. But that doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion that one of them will win. I think that once one or two of the front-runners gets booted, their fans will vote for someone else, and if Marty is still in the game, I'm hoping he's the one to pick up all those extra votes!

Does anyone have favorite songs they'd like to see up for the next weeks? Or ones they don't think would do well? I'll add them up and take them over to be counted. Post them any day, and I'll keep adding them to the list. These are the songs we haven't used, but reusing a popular one would be fine.
Creep Don't Change with INXS (Finale) Everlong I Alone Lithium Lithium (Encore) Mr. Brightside Trees (Acoustic w/Dave Navarro) Trees Wk 10 (Encore): -either includes guitar smashing -or no smashing Wish You Were Here Wish You Were Here (Finale) With Arms Wide Open
I love Lithium, but I don't think it'd do well with the big crowd. It's so hard to choose, I love them all, so I'm trying to remember which were audience favorites. I love Creep, Everlong, I Alone, Mr. Brightside, Wish You Were Here - Wk 8, and Trees (Encore) - with Smashing Guitar!

I love Wish You were here, wk 8 (especially with the emotional finish). I also love Everlong and With Arms Wide Open (love the mad conductor in this one).

Thanks for the explanation . I hope all the Marty fans spread the word too? I would love to see "With Arms wide Open" it has his signature Mad conductor moves and I love it! Although I am with HY I also loved WYWH and would like to see that too.

This is great. I'll post how many favorites each song gets total...hmm, I think on Mondays. Here and on Marty's Singers topic on RBL.
I love the Mad Conductor songs the best. Over on the main All-Stars forum, a lot of the other rockers' fans have said since the beginning that they love that about Marty too, and it's fun to see his videos again. This week some said they were considering voting for What I Like About You. So, hopefully in next weeks, more of them will vote for Marty!

Maybe we could use that strategy in this weeks song choice...the best mad conductor performance. It couldn't hurt. I'll catch up with you over in Marty's thread at RBL.

I remembered to vote & I've put the word out in the basement.
One of my absolute favourite performances was Mr Brightside, but I don't know how that one went down with other fans.

I think that Mr. Brightside is one of his most popular performances among non-Marty Casey fans. I have never read anyone write anything bad about it. So I think saving it for when it is most needed is what we should do. Like when we are down to just a few rockers and really need to pull out something that will get votes among non-Marty fans. Or in a critical bottom three performance when the competition is super stiff.
This is going to be a hard battle, so we have to use great strategy, plus get our fans out to vote every week. And each fan that votes, needs to recruit at least one or two more fans to vote as well.

Edited for confusion and contradiction. I think I'm going to skip most of strategy. I would've got an F in school for it. It honestly gives me a headache trying to figure it out. I'll try to help if I can. Mostly, I just wanna have fun (and win):

Too much. I have visions of Marty videos dancing in my head. Well, since I said no one's mentioned Lithium, now it seems like a good one to try and see how it does. I've listened to that song by Nirvana thousands of times, and Marty totally got it. I remember parts of Season 1 like it was last week. Especially before certain songs that I really wondered how he was going to do. I'm getting verklempt. When he nailed it, I was so proud and happy! I gotta feed the cats, etc. I'll be back later. With Arms Wide Open is a possibility. Lots to think about before the end of Friday.
