The problem is, if you leave to boycott J.D. and INXS, that is a vendetta that does not make much sense and seems to have inflamed the heads of some of those who like these artists.
I just want to see Marty and the LoveHammers. I don't care for INXS, even if they came with Michael Hutcence, I would not go see one of their concerts. So if I pay a ticket and they get their money, nobody can tell me who should I stay to listen to. It is not disrespect, it's called taste in music.

*IF* I can go (which is a very big IF right now), I wouldn't leave on purpose. But to be honest, I don't really like JD's voice, so it wouldn't be very enjoyable.

Hmmmm. I saw INXS on their first tour of the US (opening for Adam Ant!) and was totally amazed by MH. I saw them again here in Hong Kong, where MH went to school, and it rocked. I couldn't listen to INXS songs after MH died until I tuned into RS:INXS out of curiousity. Of course, it quickly became the Rock Star: Marty Casey show and I voted for him and only him. If INXS want JD, that's their thing. We get more Marty this way. I am grateful to INXS for introducing us to MC and for having the foresight to invite him and LH along for the tour. So, no, I'm not boycotting anything. It's just that I'll only be dancing my ass off and screaming when MC is on stage. I'll have plenty of time to recover from that excitement during JD's set.

I will go to see Marty and LH....but I will stay out of respect for INXS. I have never liked JD as a singer or really as a person for the way he came off on TV... but Marty accepted him as a friend so we have to trust Marty's judgement. I will always love INXS for putting on this show and bringing Marty to us all. I've always been a fan of underground rock and hardcore music and I had still never heard of Lovehammers... so for that, and probably only that, I thank them.

There are so many reasons to stay or leave. Some reasons may be as simple as you may have to be at work early the next day or have a long commute back home and can not stay. None of them should ever be to boycott. Let's make Marty proud of his fans.

Just curious will those who attend INXS concerts purely to see Marty Casey boycott INXS by not staying to watch them or stay? I personally will watch the Lovehammers and then leave here in Chicago making a statement. I'm not sure if advocating a boycott is such a good idea. I'm lucky because I happen to a fan of Lovehammers, INXS, JD and now JD as a band member of INXS. I think Marty is very grateful that INXS asked him to open their world tour for them and I hope his fans don't end up embarrassing him. Plus this type of action could end up hurting him and his band if INXS ends up seeing that Marty is more of liability rather than a help on the tour. I would hate for INXS to have to choose as to whether or not they should keep Marty and Lovehammers as their opening act. Of course, that's going to be up to the individual fan as to whether or not they want to boycott. My personal opinion is that it isn't a good idea.

boycott - no way I love Marty & long to see him and all the Lovehammers live ... and being able to catch INXS at the same time is a great bonus. Besides INXS are the one that are giving us the opportunity to see the Lovehammers. .. and for those of you in Los Angeles the Gibson Amphitheater is the new name of the Universal City Amphitheater, fantastic venue.

That seems like a bit of a loaded question, and my answer is not going to be a popular one...but I’m not going. I’m not really “boycotting” or trying to punish them for choosing JD. I just don’t like him, don’t like INXS with him, and feel that I would be falling victim to a marketing ploy. I’m in marketing, so I like to create the marketing ploys not be manipulated by them. I’m not going anywhere, and neither are the Lovehammers. I can wait. I will make it up to them by buying everything that they put out and catching them play the next 5 times around (when they are headlining).

I'm not going to boycott INXS because then JD/INXS fans will decide to show up late or skip the LH set before the INXS show starts. It works both ways. You leave before or during the INXS set, then they can show up late or skip the LH set and have drinks in the lobby. I don't want the LH to play to a half-empty venue because the fans are annoyed at each other.
