I've got a panther on my wrist which hurt more than you might think. I have a cat woman type creature on my left shoulder/bicep area and a simple line drawing of a cartoonish cat face on my right shoulder/bicep area. I got them all when I turned 18 without much thought to the 'forever' part of it, but I guess my tastes haven't changed much in 13 years - I still love all of them! I've been thinking of some henna type scrolling tattoos on my feet and ankles may be next, or tiny pawprints spiraling from my hand up my arm. Can you tell I like cats? ;D

I am not big on tattoos unless they are temporary like henna, and not so permanent. I guess the closest thing to a tattoo I have is permanent eyeliner....yes, it is tattooed on, so I reckon that counts. did it hurt when you got it?

I got a fake gheko on my upper arm recently when I was on holiday in Australia. He wasn't permanent though and I was quite sad when he disappeared. Don't think I could go with something forever though.
ps domesticflowergirl - I'm where you are - no more midlife crises, just small frequent ones!

I got a small dragonfly on my right breast area. I had it done when I turned 21 so its been over 10 years since I enjoyed it so much that I would like to get another one but Im so picky about what I want maybe 10 more years Ill figure it out! At the time my hubby got one to (he has a killer whale on his right shoulder) since he had his first one done hes been addicted and now has several of them (all marine animals or fish) my favorite are 2 koi around his belly button and I tease him about his blue ring octopus on his right forearm (it looks like fruit loops stuck on his arm to me.)

My husband and I got our first tattoos a month after our first grandchild was born. We call them the grandbaby tattoos. They are identical tho mine is on my upper right shoulder and my husbands is on his upper right arm. about 2 inches diameter. a heart with a rose coming up thru it and the first initial of our grand daughter's name. our 2nd grandchild arrived last July and her initial will be added to the tattoo soon. All our kids were with us when we had them done so it was a family affair. I also, last year, had my eyebrows, eyeliner and lips permanently done. Mine looks very natural and it is so nice to be able to get out of bed in the morning and look almost human. My advise to anyone for permanent makeup, as well as regular tattoing, is do your homework and find someone who is a perfectionist.

I have a friend who got the little Woodstock bird on one of her breast. One of my other friends quipped at her "You know as you age, that's going to turn into Big Bird."

I can't remember if I've already posted this but here goes. I have a homemade tattoo on my right shoulder of a Unicorn. I got it in 1976 from a guy who learned how to do it in jail (that should have been a red flag to me but I was only 25 at the time). So it was done with india ink and is blue. Its a little smaller than the palm of my hand. Originally I only wanted it to be about the size of a twonie. For many years now I've been wanting to get it fixed up but haven't gotten around to it. Now I want a Lovehammers tattoo. I'm hooked on Miami Ink and the more I watch it the more I want one. Later

I have an Aerosmith Logo On my Left shoulder in deep purple and black I have loved Aerosmith since I was two years old and thier music has helped me through so much stuff good and really bad. I have had it for about 4 years now and had the color touched up once. I am gonna get LH tattooed on my right inner wrist (At least right now thats the plan) sometime probably within the year.

I had one done that is LIVE MY LIFE FOR ME and the LH in red. It is in a great spot and the last concert I was at the boys all got a look! Marty looked kind of shyly at me and asked "Is that a real tattoo?" He seemed a little surprised and then took another look and said "That's one of our lyrics!" I said "It is baby...". Then he asked if he could sign my stomach next to it.... I tried not to fall over and had him sign above it on my shirt! He's got to watch that magnetic effect...not that I minded.

i have three, one is like the butterfly above, but more pastel colors, there are so many colors in it, and it appears to be "flying up my towards my neck, then my first was when i was 19, on my right front hip bone, i got a red heart with a bow like ribbon on top, then on my lower back i have a dolphin flippin a heart on his tail in the ocean water. I want more, they are so addictive. a friend of mine, just completed his right leg, and the last one he got was the "Here's Johnny" from the shining, he is into that kinda stuff. Its the actual image, not the words, but hey, whatever you like. tattoos are soooo addictive, maybe i should add that in the addictions section.
