I was thinking of a name that had something to do with Marty, Lovehammers, or music but didn't really come up with anything so I just decided to use things that I like and mean something to me. Dusty is the name of my cat that is special to me. Blue is my favorite color. 25 is in honor of my Mom's birth year 1925.
It is nice to read how everyone picked their name.

I second that!! ladyslipper, did you know that is the state flower of MN? Also known these days as the "frozen tundra" it's where I live. Don't know why but I didn't give a lot of thought to my name - just wanted something generically referring to my Anishanaabe (Ojibwe) roots.

Feather, I found this for you . It shows what your 'roots' are. Being Native American and wanting to share your pride through your name is wonderful...
The Ojibwa, Aanishanabe or Chippewa (also Ojibwe, Ojibway, Chippeway, Anishinaabe, or Anishinabek) is the largest group of Native Americans/First Nations north of Mexico, including Métis.
They are the third largest in the USA, surpassed only by Cherokee and Navajo.
They are about equally divided between the United States and Canada. Because they formerly were located mainly around Sault Ste. Marie, at the outlet of Lake Superior, the French referred to them as Saulteurs; Ojibwa who subsequently moved to the Prairie provinces of Canada have retained the name Saulteaux.
The major component group of the Anishinaabe, in the US they number over 100,000 living in an area stretching across the north from Michigan to Montana. Another 76,000, in 125 bands, live in Canada, stretching from western Québec to eastern British Columbia.
They are known for their Birch bark canoes, sacred birch bark scrolls, the use of cowrie shells, wild rice, copper points, and for the fact that they were the only Native Americans to defeat the Sioux at times.
The Ojibwe Nation was the first to set the agenda for signing more detailed treaties with Canada's leaders before many settlers were allowed too far west.
The Midewiwin Society was well respected as the keeper of detailed and complex scrolls of events, history, songs, maps, memories, stories, geometry, and mathematics.

Did you like that Cheza?...LOL
I worked for the Los Angeles City/County Native American Indian Commission when I was 16 years old. It was my first job, and I was the youngest Consultant to ever be hired. I was still in High School.
The Native American culture has always held a special place in my heart. I think with the many Nations rich traditions it is important to share and have understanding about the culture.
I am proud that Feather has such a deep pride in her roots, that she made her screen name based on her cultural pride.

I use my first name as a screenname mostly because all the nicknames that I have tend to baffle people. Boring, yes, but it works!

Bumpity, bumpity...I know we are adding new fans regularly, therefore, there must be new stories behind the screen names.
