RF, so sorry to hear that. It's devastating news. I've seen too pass away far too soon from cancer. We had around 86 survivors at our little area's Relay Survivors Walk last year. I'm working on the Relay website and gearing up for kickoff next Tuesday as we speak.
Key, I'll keep your friend in my prayers.
Jilly, how is your niece doing? I've been thinking about her.
Taylor is home. They let her come home yesterday. One of the kids told me that today.
All this stuff we're dealing with will pass though. Peace.

I missed calculated my nieces court date. It is actually tomorrow and she is hoping they will let her off with community service, since her friends that are trouble makers had lienient sentences she is sure that is her fate. I think she is going to have a rude awakening.Pray that her judge will give her the sentence she deserves that will sink in and she will stop goofing off and buckle down. Thank so much for the prayers for tracy

Thank you, starcrossed, for your lovely prayers. I come to read and post the prayer concerns, and it's always wonderful to see your beautiful words.
Today in my "prayer walk" I had a number of names and concerns, some of the ones posted here and others, that I was asking for help and for God to "cast out fear and restore to wholeness." I eventually found myself just walking and repeating over and over "cast out fear, cast out fear." I think that was for all on my heart, as well as for me!
Sid F'er checked into the hospital today for chemo/rad round #2. He'll be in getting treatments this week and hopefully check out to go home for a while on Friday. Please continue to keep him and his family in prayers and thoughts.

Thank You to everyone who prayed for my niece Tracy. In court today the female judge was easy on her , kinda. She has to attend Saturday school till the semester is over, she has to go to a girls empowerment program, anger management classes and drug abuse counseling classes. She better be in or registered for all those by Feb.28th or her and her mom will be sent to lock up. We also found out that Juvie is 150 dollars a day and her folks would have to fork out 6 grand for her stay. Which means they would lose their home and their jobs since they have no days at work to spare or money to spare. I just pray that this will all soak in for Tracy who just 6 months ago was getting almost straight A's and was a teachers pet. It is so easy to get pulled down into the wrong crowd. I pray she stay strong and comes out a better young woman for all this. Thanks again

My prayers are for Tracy. She is too young to go down that path...it really isn't worth it. She needs to find herself. Trying to become what she thinks her friends want, will only destroy her true beauty. I can only hope that through all of this, she will have learned what she needs to do. Life is too short...God Bless her and may she find her way onto his lighted path.

This round of chemo/rad for Sid F'er has been really rough. Hopefully he'll get to go home today for nine days and recoup a bit before the next round. Continued prayers and thoughts are most needed.
Thanks.

Prayers for all who need the comfort of His grace. May we all remember that he knows our limits and will not give us more than we can handle - no matter how impossible things may seem from our point of view.

Alas, there were injuries, so now we need to pray for speedy recoveries and smooth rehabilitation for the injured players.

Definitely. Ced had some pretty bad injuries back in the season - hyper-extended knee, etc...the games really take a toll on their bodies...pray for athletes, pro and amateur...

Cheza,
Did you know that when I studied psychology in college, my field of practice ( that I was studing for) was sports psychology.
It takes a huge toll on one's mental and emotional state of well being, when placed in the tremendous pressure of an athletic career.

I've not had as much time to be around here lately. Sorry, all.
Sid F'er's posts have become more one-liners. Poor guy. He said during the treatments last week that they had upgraded him to morphine. He said in another post that he's given up eating and drinking. And he's lost weight.
Still more of this to go. Keep sending those thoughts & prayers.
love to you all!

Keys cancer is a pain in the a**. When I turned 9 my mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She was treated with radiation and was extremely sick from it. A few years passed and she got breast cancer and lost her breasts. She had radiation and chemo for that. Then 3 years later she was diagnosed with colon cancer and had a colostomy done and while they were treating her with chemo for that discovered the cancer spread to her pancreas. She died 3 months after that last diagnosis. She suffered so much physically and spent 3 weeks in the bathroom and 2 weeks off. When she enjoyed food for a while she would have to go back to being violently sick for weeks, she tried marijuana and all kinds of pills but nothing worked. she was on an emotional roller coaster of pain and heartache and it seemed like just when she would accept her fate another disaster happened. It tore us up as a family too.Every time the phone rang we thought it was the Dr calling to day she had died. She died right after my 18 birthday. She claimed that I didn't need her anymore. I could marry vote or get a drivers license. I disagreed. My whole point isn't for pity but just to remind us of the hardship of cancer and how it is devastating to the patient and their family. Please keep Sid in your prayers, pray that he keep hope Alive and that God gives him grace to endure. And that the family bond during this time and cherish all their memories. Take Care
Jilly
